Anyone know of a LP ticket dealing with relative report dates allowing for future dates? As far as I can tell, relative dates only allow for "ago" but no "from now." |
10:17 |
rfrasur |
Oh, I think I found one. |

rfrasur: What's the use case for relative future dates? |
10:20 |

recurring report for expiring patrons. |
10:21 |
Dyrcona |
I could see it for due dates as well. |
10:21 |
rfrasur |
that's the immediate one, although I could envision something to do with due dates too |

Can you enter negative numbers in the relative date box? It's junk UX but it may be functional if need be. (That's how some A/T relative dates work) |
10:50 |
rfrasur |
Nope |
10:50 |
rfrasur |
It's a drop down with only positive integers |
10:50 |

Oh, right. |

dropdown? drop down? dropXdown? |

I don't want to push too hard for reports things since it's in the midst of being angularized. It'd a cool thing to have that rolled out with the angular version though. |

Is there any reason NOT to delete circ_matrix_matchpoint rows that are no longer in use? There's no option to delete them in the client (bug 1986666) |

mmorgan: probably safe - maybe back them up in a table beforehand in case something goes awry? |
12:10 |
mmorgan |
csharp_: Thanks! Most of these have been set active=false for quite some time, so I can't think any circs would be adversely affected. |

12:13 |

Interesting! We actually don't have many hold rules since our items generally travel freely. |
12:13 |
csharp_ |
oh to be free of hold rule strife! |
12:15 |
csharp_ |
at the very beginning of PINES there was at least one bad-faith director who planned to stop buying pop materials and depend on all the other PINES libraries to do so - the very threat of that led to strict hold rules on new stuff |
12:16 |
csharp_ |
so we're still living in the world they created, even though most directors don't think like that anymore and it's in our member agreement to buy materials "fairly" |
12:17 |

We deleted a bunch of inactive circ rules via SQL recently. |
12:19 |
mmorgan |
Sounds painful :-( Does age hold protection not work to keep the popular at home until the hold queues dwindle? |
12:20 |
mmorgan |
Dyrona: Thanks! |
12:24 |

mmorgan: it does - and that feature was developed originally for that use case |

still advocating a pooled budget situation for libraries to pay in and get pop materials without having to "own" them |

MVLC had rules about popular items and when your library was supposed to get one or more of its own copies. |
12:40 |
JBoyer |
csharp_, EI used to have a small set of items that floated anywhere just to fill holds. You can still see good returns with a small budget. No idea if that's still going though. |
12:41 |
JBoyer |
May be easier to get started than convincing libraries to pool their budgets for a larger selection. |
