10:17 rfrasur Anyone know of a LP ticket dealing with relative report dates allowing for future dates?  As far as I can tell, relative dates only allow for "ago" but no "from now."
10:17 rfrasur Oh, I think I found one.
10:20 mmorgan rfrasur: What's the use case for relative future dates?
10:20 rfrasur recurring report for expiring patrons.
10:21 Dyrcona I could see it for due dates as well.
10:21 rfrasur that's the immediate one, although I could envision something to do with due dates too
10:21 rfrasur (jinx)
10:21 Dyrcona :)
10:21 mmorgan Ah, ok, that makes sense!
10:23 rfrasur ++
10:50 JBoyer Can you enter negative numbers in the relative date box? It's junk UX but it may be functional if need be. (That's how some A/T relative dates work)
10:50 rfrasur Nope
10:50 rfrasur It's a drop down with only positive integers
10:50 JBoyer Oh, right.
10:50 rfrasur dropdown?  drop down?  dropXdown?
10:50 rfrasur dropdown
10:52 rfrasur I don't want to push too hard for reports things since it's in the midst of being angularized.  It'd a cool thing to have that rolled out with the angular version though.

10:52 pinesol Launchpad bug 1705509 in Evergreen "Reporter relative date selection is too limited" [Wishlist,Confirmed]

11:11 Dyrcona *sighs and switches networks*

12:01 mmorgan Is there any reason NOT to delete circ_matrix_matchpoint rows that are no longer in use? There's no option to delete them in the client (bug 1986666)
12:01 pinesol Launchpad bug 1986666 in Evergreen "Ability to delete circulation policies" [Wishlist,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1986666
12:08 csharp_ mmorgan: probably safe - maybe back them up in a table beforehand in case something goes awry?
12:10 mmorgan csharp_: Thanks! Most of these have been set active=false for quite some time, so I can't think any circs would be adversely affected.
12:10 csharp_ yeah - probably fine, but you'
12:10 csharp_ re right to be cautious
12:11 csharp_ I'm uber paranoid about circ rule stuff BREAKING EVERYTHING™
12:11 csharp_ hold rules are worse though
12:11 * mmorgan always tends to err on the side of being too cautious :)
12:12 csharp_ so many potential trouble points
12:13 mmorgan Interesting! We actually don't have many hold rules since our items generally travel freely.
12:13 csharp_ oh to be free of hold rule strife!
12:15 csharp_ at the very beginning of PINES there was at least one bad-faith director who planned to stop buying pop materials and depend on all the other PINES libraries to do so - the very threat of that led to strict hold rules on new stuff
12:16 csharp_ so we're still living in the world they created, even though most directors don't think like that anymore and it's in our member agreement to buy materials "fairly"
12:17 Dyrcona We deleted a bunch of inactive circ rules via SQL recently.
12:19 mmorgan Sounds painful :-( Does age hold protection not work to keep the popular at home until the hold queues dwindle?
12:20 mmorgan Dyrona: Thanks!
12:24 csharp_ mmorgan: it does - and that feature was developed originally for that use case
12:24 * Dyrcona switches networks again. Hope your day is going better than mine!
12:24 csharp_ still advocating a pooled budget situation for libraries to pay in and get pop materials without having to "own" them
12:25 Dyrcona joined #evergreen
12:26 Dyrcona MVLC had rules about popular items and when your library was supposed to get one or more of its own copies.
12:40 JBoyer csharp_, EI used to have a small set of items that floated anywhere just to fill holds. You can still see good returns with a small budget. No idea if that's still going though.
12:41 JBoyer May be easier to get started than convincing libraries to pool their budgets for a larger selection.
12:47 Dyrcona IDK, it sounds like basic collection development to me, but when there are bad actors....

14:02 Dyrcona hmmm... Am I the only one having issues with github?
14:03 Dyrcona Not just me: Github.com is DOWN  for everyone.
14:08 Dyrcona What a day!
14:09 Dyrcona Meh. Just network stuff..... Nothing serious, I guess, but frustrating never the less.
14:18 Dyrcona And, Github is back.
14:50 csharp_ @blame github
14:50 pinesol csharp_: I know it was you, github. You broke csharp_'s heart. You broke csharp_'s heart.
14:50 csharp_ @praise git
14:50 * pinesol In days of old, it was prophesied that a hero would come and restore karmic balance to #evergreen. git is that hero.
14:50 rfrasur Hah
14:51 mmorgan :)
14:51 csharp_ @praise [someone]
14:51 * pinesol And jeffdavis raised the report up on high, saying O Lord, bless this thy circ report, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.
14:51 * rfrasur snorts
14:51 mmorgan That must be some circ report!
14:54 Dyrcona mmorgan: You should see the rabbit.
14:55 mmorgan :)
14:56 * mmorgan runs away from the circ report, rabbit and holy hand grenade.

15:23 sleary Github choked while I was right in the middle of a PR to the W3C >.<
15:53 jeffdavis currently reading a section of the Shibboleth docs that uses the heading "Productionalization"
15:53 jeffdavis tempted to lob a circ report at it
15:55 jeff support!
15:57 berick it hurts to say it
16:01 jeffdavis I have to admit I'm finding Shibboleth difficult to productionalizate
16:10 sleary a tiny corner of my English degree just shriveled into dust and blew away into the void
16:11 Bmagic sleary++
16:13 jeffdavis :)
16:24 JBoyer Sounds like jeffdavis needs to action a dialog with a productionalization success agent.
