I have a really weird problem where dates are completely messed up. e.g. the due date is 30-59-2016. The dates are fine in the database, so it's just a problem with displaying it in the staff client. |
00:08 |
ssieb |
So actually, it;'s just the month that's the problem. This is the same problem I have having with selecting dates using the calendar widget, so it's not the widget that's the problem. |

@later tell ssieb are you by any chance using a locale in Evergreen other than en-US? Just trying to work out possible reasons for such date weirdness |

@later tell lualaba Does the record have a call number and copy attached, or an 856 with a subfield $9 that gives the catalogue a reason to show it to non-cataloguers? |

kmlussier: it looks like the librarian tried to change the date format a while back and used mm instead of MM. However, I switched to the proper form, but it's not having any effect. |
13:33 |
kmlussier |
terran: But think about how nice the weather will be in Atlanta during ALA MidWinter. That is, if you don't have an ice storm. |
13:34 |
kmlussier |
ssieb: I think the date format idea came from mmorgan. The only guess I had was the web client one, which was wrong. I know there are date issues with the web client. I'm not sure what could be going on in the regular client. |

I deleted the local library setting and then set it at the consortium level. Would that be an issue? |
13:38 |
kmlussier |

gmcharlt++ |
14:17 |

14:18 |
graced |
The checks and invoices never go to the local host. |
14:18 |
terran |
graced: The checks that the host is sending to the SFC |
14:18 |
graced |
Right. The reason NC sent a check to the SFC was for registration of several of their State Library personnel. |
14:18 |
graced |
They were just another "attendee invoice" at that point. |
14:19 |
graced |
Sorry if that wasn't clear. |
14:19 |
terran |
So if everyone else is sending checks directly to the SFC, we really don't have a way to reconcile them. |
14:19 |
graced |
So if an orgnaization requested an invoice via EventBrite the SFC would send it and the payment would come to the SFC. |
14:19 |
miker |
terran: correct |
14:19 |
graced |
And we don't know who paid invoices by check or CC or wire transfer |
14:19 |
graced |
Hence our frustration in their delays |
14:20 |
graced |
Sorry to everyone - I'm sure that context was not clear. |
14:20 |
graced |
I apologize. |
14:20 |
terran |
Do we have direct access to EventBrite to be able to pull the lists of invoices and payments? |
14:20 |
graced |
I've been soaking in it for too long. |
14:20 |
graced |
We can see who requested invoices but the SFC didn't update eventbrite with payment methods |
14:21 |
graced |
If they paid via CC on the eventbrite site without requesting an invoice then we can see it. |
14:21 |
graced |
But we also don't know who requested refunds and cancellations firectly with the SFC either. |

rfrasur__ |
Also, and it's very likely that I missed something or something, but was there a satisfactory answer regarding the staff time on the accounting software despite open source options? |
15:11 |

As we lead up to this mid-year meeting, we should all give some thought to whether our project values have good overlap with theirs. And, of course, what our options are. |
15:11 |
terran |
I'm unclear as to what our options would be if we did leave them. |
15:12 |

rfrasur__: the answer on that wasn't satisfactory to me, personally. |
15:12 |
rfrasur__ |
terran, it sounded like their suggestion was that a 501c3 form to take over the roles performed by the SFC. |

rgagnon |
terran: Don't state and regional library associations use firms to manage these kinds of things? Suppose we would need to be 501c3 |
15:13 |
miker |
rfrasur__: the answer, as I recall it, was that they would only use OSS software, but that gcash (and other OSS accounting software) couldn't handle their volume or number of accounts, or the like |

miker: thank you. And uh....okay |

csharp: It's been intermittent all day. I suppose intermittent is better than down for several hours. |
16:49 |
csharp |
yeah, I'm seeing drops here in Decatur too - I wonder if it's the same issue |
16:49 |
* csharp |
is SO close to dumping them for AT&T |
16:49 |
csharp |
though there's no love lost with them either |

prays for Google Fiber |
16:53 |
berick |
huh, just noticed google fiber includes (optional) tv service / dvr, etc. |
16:55 |
berick |
at, of course, half of what I pay time warner |
16:57 |
kmlussier |
Doesn't matter to me. Google Fiber is unlikely to come to Seekonk, Massachusetts. :( |
17:00 |
berick |
there's an apt. complex less than a mile from here that's confirmed to be getting fiber when the construction is done, but they are just across the city line. (we're county). still no clear indication if they will make it my address :( |
17:03 |
kmlussier |
Isn't a sad state of affairs that most of use are left with just one option for high-speed service? In the Western part of Massachusetts, we have communities that have no high-speed options at all. |
17:05 |
* ssieb |
just upgraded his connection to 150Mbps cable... |
17:06 |
kmlussier |
Have a nice night #evergreen! |
17:07 |
ssieb |
It's not great here, but way better than what I hear in the US :-/ |
