07:38 bshum jeffdavis: Okay, I was just curious since the default for Xenial is PG 9.5.  So I guess that means you installed PG 9.4 separately or changed the install target.  Maybe it's a perl issue, or a problem with the data that's being fed into it... I'll see if I can find a sample bib with diacritics in it (or make one to play with) later.
07:44 bshum berick: Dyrcona: I added a quick commit to workaround angular 1.5.x issues for working branch in http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=working/Evergreen.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/user/bshum/angular155andup
07:44 bshum I'll toss it onto the existing angular 1.5 LP too
07:45 bshum I didn't refactor anything like we discussed berick, but figured that it was good enough to at least get past the initial dep issues and get back to working master again.

07:59 csharp jeffdavis: can you share the record(s) that it's failing on?  I would be curious whether it has/they have the proper character encoding in the 008

09:10 Dyrcona So, we're still logging the number of drones running every 5 minutes to the database on my server.
09:11 Dyrcona When we had trouble this morning there was a higher than usual number of supercat and cstore drones running.

09:14 Dyrcona Heh...
09:14 Dyrcona I meant to send that in private to tsbere....
09:15 Dyrcona @blame Z39.50
09:15 pinesol_green Dyrcona: Z39.50 broke Evergreen.
09:15 Dyrcona True dat! ;)
09:25 tsbere Hmmm
09:25 tsbere Should that just be "Z39.50 broke"? ;)
09:27 jeff @later tell jeffdavis regarding your Encode.pm troubles, I suspect that a search path issue now or in the past resulted in you having two copies of maintain_control_numbers, one without the fix for bug 1242999 https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1242999
09:27 pinesol_green jeff: The operation succeeded.

10:12 dbs oh that bug, an epic collaboration of the dans
10:20 berick @band add Collaboration Of The Dans
10:20 pinesol_green berick: I see nothing, I know nothing!
10:20 * berick knows the plugin is not installed, uses it anyway
10:33 dbs We're all running the corresponding code in our heads anyway, berick
10:35 * Dyrcona also thought it sounded like a band name.

10:46 * tsbere was just looking at the DB functions for copy counts and wonders if the "unshadow" for the staff version should be paying attention to org unit visibilities or not (it currently doesn't look like it does on a quick glance)
10:50 krvmga i hate intermittent errors (as do we all, i'm sure)
10:54 tsbere krvmga: But are they reproducible intermittent errors? ;)
10:54 krvmga tsbere: lol. yes, intermittently
10:55 pastebot "krvmga" at 64.57.241.14 pasted "virtual host setup in eg.conf" (28 lines) at http://paste.evergreen-ils.org/13
10:56 krvmga and i can verify this configuration is not working to deliver the templates consistently for the specified urls
10:57 krvmga if you go to http://training.cwmars.org or http://academic.cwmars.org, you periodically either get all default templates, a mix of default and custom, or all custom for the url
10:58 krvmga beats the heck out me me why
10:59 krvmga my eg_vhost.conf file only has the one line
10:59 krvmga # Templates will be loaded from the following paths in reverse order.
10:59 krvmga PerlAddVar OILSWebTemplatePath "/openils/var/templates"

12:16 bshum krvmga: And all your brick heads have the same apache config?
12:21 bshum Or is it single system?
12:28 bshum Since I occasionally see the "V" brick head number when I refresh training, I'm assuming it's multi-brick then.
12:29 bshum I would verify that all brick heads have the eg.conf as specified, and that it's active and apache reloaded/restarted with the new config
12:30 bshum That and that the actual templates for the unique skins are installed on each brick
12:30 * bshum is not sure if there's any NFS mounting to share /templates/ or if each brick is unique
12:33 kmlussier bshum: Just read scrollback. Looks like krvmga was talking about their training server, which is all on one brick.
12:34 bshum kmlussier: Interesting, and odd then

12:51 krvmga ok, here's how i've experimented with eg.conf to try and figure out what's going on with my server...
12:51 krvmga i took out the virtualhosts, leaving the default - everything served up right
12:52 krvmga i disabled the site - that showed the apache default - again right
12:52 krvmga i added one of the virtual hosts back into eg.conf, enabled eg.conf - only the default templates showed up
12:52 krvmga ???
12:53 krvmga (after i did a service apache2 reload, of course)
12:55 jihpringle joined #evergreen
12:56 krvmga and, finally, i disabled eg.conf, replaced eg.conf with my original eg.conf (that had the virtualhosts and intermittent wrong templates being served)
12:56 krvmga enabled eg.conf, reload apache and only stock templates are being served
12:56 krvmga i am really confused
12:57 kmlussier krvmga: Are you saying that you only see the stock templates at this very moment when you go to training.cwmars.org?
12:58 krvmga kmlussier: i just retested and now i'm getting the intermittent wrong templates again
12:59 jeffdavis jeff++ # you were exactly right about the problem, thank you!
12:59 kmlussier krvmga: OK, thanks for clarifying. I was going to tell you that I'm not seeing stock templates, but it sounds like you're already seeing that. :)
12:59 jeff jeffdavis: hooray!
13:00 krvmga kmlussier: i'm doing a rinse/repeat now, in case i missed a step
13:15 krvmga okay, i think i've narrowed it down. the http requests are served correctly; the https requests only serve the default templates
13:15 krvmga so there's got to be a place where i need to fix what happens for https
13:16 bshum krvmga: well sure, the virtualhost entries you showed us in the paste for eg.conf are for http only
13:16 bshum aka, :80 (port 80 for http)
13:16 bshum You'd need to find the one for :443 (for https)
13:16 krvmga bshum: and put in the same virtualhost info except *:443?
13:17 bshum krvmga: Right, you have to define it for both
13:17 * krvmga dives back into the trench, knife clenched in his teeth
13:35 pastebot "krvmga" at 64.57.241.14 pasted "virtualhost 443 entries" (18 lines) at http://paste.evergreen-ils.org/15
13:36 krvmga i get a message saying the page is working "redirected you too many times"
13:37 krvmga https://training.cwmars.org and https://academic.cwmars.org both show the correct templates
13:37 krvmga when i click on the login button, i get that error
13:38 bshum Bad template?  /shrugs
13:39 bshum krvmga: what does that my account link talk to?  just /eg/opac/myopac/main ?   Or is it defining something more?
13:39 bshum In the actual template, not the rendered page
13:40 krvmga bshum:             <a href="[% mkurl(ctx.opac_root _ '/myopac/main') %]"
13:40 krvmga from topnav.tt2
13:40 bshum Seems normal enough, hmm
13:41 * bshum doesn't remember if one has to define ServerName with the right port too
13:41 bshum Like ServerName training.cwmars.org:443
13:41 krvmga bshum: i can try that and see what happens
13:42 bshum Nah, google tells me I might be misremembering
13:43 krvmga bshum: i get the same error ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
13:44 bshum krvmga: Is there a virtualhost *:443 for localhost somewhere too?  You only listed out the additions I gather
13:45 krvmga bshum: yes, there's a virtualhost for localhost above the two i pasted
13:45 bshum Oh yeah
13:45 krvmga has a lot of details on the crt etc.
13:45 bshum Right
13:45 bshum You probably want to define those too
13:45 bshum So like copy the <virtualhost *:443> with all the SSL stuff, etc.
13:45 krvmga you mean put all the crt info in the other virtualhosts as well?
13:45 bshum And you have to include that yeah
13:46 krvmga ok, i'll give it a shot
13:46 bshum Cause basically it treats all of them as separate entries now, with each ServerName resolving differently
13:46 bshum I think.
13:47 * bshum felt more confident two minutes ago
13:47 bshum Then the rain came :(
13:48 krvmga bshum: it seems to have worked.
13:49 krvmga i don't ever remember having to do all that before.
13:49 krvmga but i know to do it now...which is good
13:49 krvmga bshum++
13:49 bshum krvmga++ # trial by fire
13:49 krvmga but this explains the intermittent wrong templates being served - mixup between http and https
13:50 krvmga so there's that, too :)
13:51 bshum krvmga: That banner for the academic version is giving you mixups due to http vs. https (since the file is linked from amazon? as http)
13:51 bshum Just saying, some browsers don't like that sort of thing
13:52 Dyrcona mixed content warning.
13:54 krvmga i think, unless the college makes it happen, they're going to have to suffer with that
13:57 bshum krvmga: or you change the link for the image to be https instead of http
13:57 bshum Since it seems that amazon can serve it either way
13:58 bshum Or you copy the image from amazon and store it locally on your server and link to that in your template
13:58 krvmga i'll play with it a bit and see how it goes :)
13:59 * bshum wanders away
