Takes a while to login when the load is 111 and all of the RAM and swap are in use. |
08:39 |

Ooh... 135, now.... |

Less than 160 apache drones running. So, where did all the RAM go? |

Fun.... I may just have to pull the plug on the vm. |

Anyone else out there have libraries with wowbrary widgets on their websites? |

I'm asking, because I see a large number of hits for jackets with a referring URL of one of our libraries with a wowbrary widget and wondered if anyone else has had any trouble with that. |

Dyrcona: I don't know if this is related, but bug 1236979 was expected to help with performance issues with services like Wowbrary (I think). I noticed a big performance boost when I tested it. |

Unfortunately, there were some items that weren't exactly in the right order, and we never pinned down why that was. |

I've got 130 requests for jacket covers by the same remote within two seconds, and only 1 or 2 other log entries in between. |
11:45 |
Dyrcona |
The referring URL is a library home page with a wowbrary widget. |
12:03 |
jeff |
Dyrcona: is the remote addr the external NAT IP of a library branch with kiosks that start up at the same time each morning and open the library's web page? ;-) |
12:03 |
jeff |
(within two seconds would be pretty closely grouped even for machines of the same hardware and base software install, but... maybe) |

I have seen a firewall that has delayed everything on the machine until a specific point of internal checking. If the browsers had all started up, but the initial page load for their homepages was delayed by such a firewall... |

The 130 requests for book jackets came from a FIOS address, so not likely to be one of our libraries. |
