I have a placing holds permission mystery that pops up occasionally that I can't figure out. |

It's related to new popular titles where some copies have age protection. |

Staff members attempt to place a hold for a patron and get the message: Problem: All available copies are temporarily unavailable at your pickup library. Placing this hold could result in longer wait times. |

When I've encountered this previously, the problem can go away if the circulation status or attributes of the copies change. It seems to be a certain combination of age protection, circulation status and holdability that causes the problem. |
