09:24 lualaba a need to create Workstation to access from web
09:28 yboston joined #evergreen
09:44 kmlussier lualaba: Sorry. I don't have any ideas on my end other than adding the SSL exception, which you already did, and making sure you entered the domain correctly, without the http://. Maybe somebody else will have ideas as people start to trickle in this morning.
09:46 tsbere Did anyone build the XUL client? If it was being built for "web client testing" someone may have skipped the full XUL client steps.
09:46 tsbere Also, is https working at all?
09:47 lualaba yes working
09:48 lualaba yes any chance to configure workstation without staff client?
09:48 tsbere Direct DB insert?
09:48 kmlussier lualaba: I've successfully logged into the web client without having a workstation registered. I don't know if things have changed since then.
09:49 kmlussier Once you log into the web client, you can register the workstation through Administration -> Workstation

11:05 kmlussier mmorgan and I were just looking at some of the web client interfaces. We noticed that the heading for different interfaces vary a bit. For example, look at Check In vs. Item Status vs. Record / Copy buckets vs. Record In-House Use
11:06 kmlussier Should we be aiming for a consistent styles for headers? It seems like the blue header with the blue background was most consistently used for circ.
11:10 kmlussier Cataloging doesn't seem to use it at all, but it appears as if good portion of the cataloging screens are in dojo, so that's understandable. But maybe something similar could be used for the buckets and Angular interfaces that retrieve records.
11:11 kmlussier mmorgan was also suggesting there might be some value in a slightly different style for different functions, eg maybe a different color for cataloging.
11:11 * kmlussier wonders if Julia Lima addressed headings in her style guide.

11:57 mmorgan kmlussier++ # web client wrangling
12:04 dbwells kmlussier: Headings are covered at length in Julia's guide.  We also did some experimentation with using colors for different "areas", but it quickly became very difficult due to both finding the right subjective divisions between "areas" and also dealing with accessibility concerns.  I still think it's a good idea to pursue, but maybe not in a first round of standardization.
12:04 jwoodard I have not written, a haiku in quite some time, Work neverending
12:07 kmlussier jwoodard++
12:08 kmlussier dbwells: Is there any chance we could get the style guide on the wiki so that it's easy to find something to refer to when style questions come up? I know it's in draft form, but it's something.
12:08 kmlussier Also, +1 to just general standardization and worrying about different "areas" at a future time.

12:21 dbwells kmlussier: The entire guide is in AsciiDoc right now.  We could probably do a quick and dirty conversion to get something on the wiki, but I think the goal was to get it into the docs site at some point.  Which direction do you think we should pursue?
12:37 kmlussier dbwells: Hmmm...that's a good question. I think I had suggested putting it in the docs at one point, but then the question is if it's considered "official" once it's in the docs.
12:38 kmlussier dbwells: I know you created a gist at one point, but it's always takes a bit of time for me to track it down. If it's somewhere on evergreen-ils.org, whether it's the docs or somewhere else, I think it makes it more accessible for everyone.
12:38 kmlussier yboston: Do you have any thoughts on incorporating the not-yet-finalized UI style guide from Julia Lima in the docs?
12:38 kmlussier On and entirely different matter:
12:40 kmlussier dbwells, miker and anyone else who is interested, I posted my attempt at creating a fixed-position navbar at bug 1474455. Everything seemed to respond to different screen sizes with no trouble when I tried it out.

13:27 jwoodard Allow me to pick ya'lls brains once more.
13:27 jwoodard is it possible to have the primary ident field prefill?
13:31 kmlussier jwoodard: Yes
13:31 kmlussier It's an OU setting. Default Ident Type for Patron Registration.
13:34 jwoodard We have that field prefilled it is the one afterwards. we have the primary ident type as drivers license
13:34 jwoodard we want to prefill the field where the drivers license would go.
13:36 kmlussier jwoodard: Oh, sorry. Misunderstood the question. No, I don't think you can do that with a setting.
14:00 kmlussier Hmmm...I'm having second thoughts on my comment here https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1452950/comments/11
14:00 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1452950 in Evergreen "Angularize the patron editor" (affected: 2, heat: 10) [Wishlist,In progress] - Assigned to Bill Erickson (berick)
14:01 kmlussier The suggested style will look fine when registering a new patron, but will probably look terrible when editing an existing one.
14:05 kmlussier Perhaps we need different styles for different contexts.
