mmorgan and I were just looking at some of the web client interfaces. We noticed that the heading for different interfaces vary a bit. For example, look at Check In vs. Item Status vs. Record / Copy buckets vs. Record In-House Use |
11:06 |
kmlussier |
Should we be aiming for a consistent styles for headers? It seems like the blue header with the blue background was most consistently used for circ. |
11:10 |
kmlussier |
Cataloging doesn't seem to use it at all, but it appears as if good portion of the cataloging screens are in dojo, so that's understandable. But maybe something similar could be used for the buckets and Angular interfaces that retrieve records. |
11:11 |
kmlussier |
mmorgan was also suggesting there might be some value in a slightly different style for different functions, eg maybe a different color for cataloging. |
11:11 |

12:04 |
dbwells |
kmlussier: Headings are covered at length in Julia's guide. We also did some experimentation with using colors for different "areas", but it quickly became very difficult due to both finding the right subjective divisions between "areas" and also dealing with accessibility concerns. I still think it's a good idea to pursue, but maybe not in a first round of standardization. |

Also, +1 to just general standardization and worrying about different "areas" at a future time. |

kmlussier: The entire guide is in AsciiDoc right now. We could probably do a quick and dirty conversion to get something on the wiki, but I think the goal was to get it into the docs site at some point. Which direction do you think we should pursue? |
12:37 |
kmlussier |
dbwells: Hmmm...that's a good question. I think I had suggested putting it in the docs at one point, but then the question is if it's considered "official" once it's in the docs. |
12:38 |
kmlussier |
dbwells: I know you created a gist at one point, but it's always takes a bit of time for me to track it down. If it's somewhere on evergreen-ils.org, whether it's the docs or somewhere else, I think it makes it more accessible for everyone. |
