Now, we're just finger pointing: It's Evergreen's fault. No, it's Aspen's fault. |
| 12:46 |
Dyrcona |
That's totally a non-sequitur from whatever might have been going on in the channel. |

I forget. Is there a way to output to a file in srfsh? |
| 13:12 |
Dyrcona |
Well, not from the interactive shell, but I can redirect the output from srfsh when used like/in a script. |

I get spoiled by Evergreen commit messages. Some other projects are just "Merge pull reques #3008..." or "[ticket #] fix display" |
| 13:34 |
Dyrcona |
*sigh* Guess I *have* to git log -p.... |
| 14:02 |
Dyrcona |
I bet they've got the wrong version of the IDL. |

I hit the reply button and Gmail won't let me type in the text box...... What a day off..... |

Dyrcona, If you've had an Eg upgrade recently and Aspen is doing weird stuff, it caches the IDL in the cached_values table. Give how that table is built you can just DELETE FROM cached_values; and not cause any problems. |
| 14:12 |
JBoyer |
I don't know what kind of schedule it updates the IDL on. |
| 14:17 |
Dyrcona |
JBoyer: I was looking at Evergreen.php in 25.08.00. On line 2224 it does $memCache->get for the IDL class info. On line 2244 it does $memCache->set with a config array. I don't know what the lifetime is, but I guess it could be set in that config. |
| 14:17 |
Dyrcona |
I don't have access to the Aspen database or the memcache. It's hosted by someone else. |
| 14:22 |
JBoyer |
It's not actually memcache, I don't know if that's a moldy holdover from Aspen's Vufind+ origins or just a terrible name chosen for bad reasons. |
| 14:23 |
JBoyer |
But if it seems like it could be IDL-related you or someone who's in office today should be able to put in a ticket about the uprgade and clearing the cache and they shouldn't argue about it. |
| 14:23 |
Dyrcona |
I'm not disputing that. Just sayin' what the code says. |
| 14:23 |
Dyrcona |
We've had a ticket open since 8 something am, where they've been point the finger at me, and I've been pointing right back. |
| 14:23 |
JBoyer |
:( |
| 14:23 |
JBoyer |
Well that sucks. |
| 14:24 |
Dyrcona |
Stale IDL cache would explain all of the random stuff we've seen since the upgrade. |
| 14:31 |
Dyrcona |
The Memcache class doesn't provide any clues either. |
| 14:33 |
Dyrcona |
Looking at that, it appears to be just something that hangs out in RAM with no backing store. |
| 14:46 |
JBoyer |
Were you looking at sys/MemoryCache/Memcache.php ? If a timeout isn't supplied the value "expires" immediately, but won't be cleared until rand(0,1000) returns 1, so not often. And it's hard-coding $enableDbCache to true (the CachedValue class handles the actual db access) |
| 14:47 |
JBoyer |
Doesn't necessarily help, but it's a little peek at why the thing is a bit of a black box. (And I may be missing replies as my desktop seems to hate my wifi recently and so it's been reconnecting every few minutes. :,( |
| 14:47 |
Dyrcona |
So, it looks like it all goes through DataObject. |
| 14:47 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah, I was trying to figure out how it gets into a database. |
| 14:56 |
Dyrcona |
Yeahp. Stale IDL entries in cache was the issue. |
| 14:57 |
