Is anyone experiencing slowness when batch importing MARC files from Hoopla? |
| 11:11 |
Bmagic |
ianskelskey: I've not heard from anyone having that specific issue. Is it slow with a non-electronic bib record |
| 11:12 |
csharp_ |
ianskelskey: slowness with the import itself, or general system slowness? |
| 11:14 |
ianskelskey |
It only seems to be slow with Hoopla records and its slowness with the import itself. Functioning as usual otherwise |

re: KPAC did you mean, I have tried out a few iterations of incorrectly spelled search terms and did some title searching - I didn't get any Did You Mean results |

ianskelskey: could be an import profile thing |
| 11:32 |
ianskelskey |
What do you mean? |
| 11:41 |
csharp_ |
ianskelskey: not sure what import method you're doing but there are match sets and merge profiles within vandelay that the UI import and some scripty tools use |
| 11:41 |
csharp_ |
may not be relevant in your case - just theorizing |
| 11:44 |
ianskelskey |
I'm just gathering any information I can before I start looking at code/custom solutions so I appreciate it. I'll run it by our cataloger and see what she says. |
| 11:51 |
ianskelskey |
It looks like the match set is Hoopla and the merge profile is full overlay if that means anything |
| 11:54 |
ianskelskey |
We've been running a test with 100 records and its been running for over 2 hours so far with about 65 complete. |
| 11:56 |
jihpringle |
ianskelskey: it might be worth looking at what your Hoopla match set is matching on compared to other match sets you have |
| 11:58 |
collum |
ianskelskey: ^ In the MARC Batch Import/Export screen there's a tab for Record Match Sets. You can find how Hoopla is defined through that interface. |
| 11:59 |
ianskelskey |
Is there something in particular I should look for there. I was in that screen recently poking around. |
| 12:01 |

others would know better, but my guess is that the more operators involved and tags being looked at the longer things will take |
| 12:06 |
ianskelskey |
It looks very simple and similar to others that work. One operator and one attribute as far as I can tell. We suspect that the duplicate 856 fields on Hoopla records are somehow contributing to the issue. I'm not sure why that would be. This is an area of evergreen I haven't worked with yet. |

csharp_: same or similar issue here. "forgot password" and providing my email address results in an email that begins "Hello from example.com!" and informs me that "we do not have any record of such an account in our database". I'll use myself as a guinea pig and take a look later. |

It's not clear from the list of lists, but opening the details of each list I'm subscribed to lets me see that the delivery status of Evergreen-commits was "Disabled by Bounces", and lets me re-enabled it. |
| 15:33 |

looks like selecting "List-based preferences" after logging in is the easiest way to see which of your lists may be in a disabled status. |
| 15:40 |
jeff |
that appears to be the expected behavior: |
