10:14 mixo Hello
10:17 redavis hello mixo
10:17 mixo I have evergreen version 3.12.3. I configured smtp. Test mail from evergreen works, but when I click to place hold it does not send email.
10:25 redavis I'm going to leave that for someone with more experience. I'd possibly look at whatever Action Triggers you have set up.

10:54 abneiman super grateful for all of the review & committing that's happened this week, y'all rock!
10:55 abneiman there's still a handful of high-importance and wishlist items that I'd love to see in beta: https://launchpad.net/evergreen/+milestone/3.15-beta

11:04 csharp_ mixo: there's a server-side action_trigger_runner.pl script - is it scheduled to run via cron?
11:10 mixo csharp_ thank you. I didn't schedule it. I'll do it.

11:20 sleary I see a few console errors here and there. It looks like they came from our stuff, so I will clean those up along with the failing test from IANT.

11:31 pinesol csharp_: Band 'IANT Lint' added to list
11:33 csharp_ @decide IANT or ICANTEVEN
11:33 pinesol csharp_: go with IANT
11:33 csharp_ ok, I'm done
11:33 redavis IcANTeven
11:34 csharp_ lots o' IcANTeven days this week
11:34 redavis IcANoddThough
11:34 redavis csharp_++ #same
11:34 csharp_ anyone in Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, UK, or Mexico need an Evergreen admin?  asking for a friend
11:35 csharp_ or Australia or New Zealand
11:35 csharp_ I guess I can learn Koha and move to NZ
11:36 Dyrcona :)
11:36 Dyrcona In 2007 or '08, I almost applied for a library director job on Chatham Island. It's off the coast of New Zealand and legally part of Canterbury Province (Christchurch).
11:37 csharp_ ooohhh
11:37 berick are we building a commune?
11:37 csharp_ we had a group of librarians from Tasmania visit GPLS back in my early days
11:37 csharp_ berick: compound
11:38 * redavis will grow vegetables.
11:39 * berick will learn morse code for some reason
11:40 redavis Back in the day, I had those walkie talkies that had morse code printed on the face of them. Ain't nobody not able to call for help around me.
11:40 csharp_ @who is a member of the Dharma Initiative?
11:40 pinesol collum is a member of the Dharma Initiative.
11:41 berick was reading about ham radio this morning, don't know now, I don't even like talking on the phone
11:41 berick *don't know why
11:41 csharp_ haha
11:42 Dyrcona I think they removed the Morse code requirement for the ham radio license, didn't they?
11:42 berick Dyrcona: they did
11:42 csharp_ mmmmm ham
11:42 berick 2007 i think
11:43 csharp_ I remember that dmcmorris (early Equinox admin) had a ham radio rig in his car
11:43 redavis just because we don't like something doesn't mean we won't have to do it. I also used to try to talk to semi-drivers. Nothing dangerous about that at all (that was on a much higher powered radio than the morse code walkie talkies).
11:44 csharp_ my grandfather in south Mississippi had an illegally-strong CB and would talk to truckers all over the place, especially at night when the signals were stronger
11:44 csharp_ his CB handle was "Slim on the Hill" (he was quite obese)
11:45 berick break 1 9 for radio check
11:45 csharp_ I loved CBs when I was kid
11:45 redavis csharp_, I'm not sure the provenance of my radio. My "boyfriend" gave it to me. His dad drove semi.
11:45 csharp_ hah
11:46 csharp_ pretty sure my dad's was Radio Shack brand
11:46 redavis The idea was that we could talk whenever. The reality was that, that was boring, and truckers were more interesting.
11:46 redavis mmmmmm.....radioshack.
11:46 csharp_ I miss Radio Shack
11:47 redavis '80s radioshack though. Not '90s.
11:47 berick before it was cool?
11:47 csharp_ haha
11:48 redavis When NOTHING was cool, but anything was interesting.
11:48 csharp_ I would have killed for a radio shack version of the TI-99
11:48 berick they had their own versions?
11:48 csharp_ https://www.pcmag.com/news/golden-age-of-trs-80-a-look-back-at-radioshack-computers
11:49 csharp_ TRS-80, that was the one
11:50 redavis Pretty sure they were the ones carrying the commodores. And where I thought someday I would grow up and get an Amiga.
11:50 * redavis did grow up and did not get an Amiga.
11:50 berick @dunno add https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/lineupitems/07wQZ2PpAYVF9VOwdwrj8vA.fit_lim.size_800x440.v1569508126.jpg
11:50 pinesol berick: The operation succeeded.  Dunno #94 added.
11:50 redavis berick++
11:51 csharp_ yeah - we didn't get a computer until my mom started her PhD program in the late 80s - it was a 2nd or 3rd gen MacIntosh
11:51 redavis Hah!
11:51 redavis We have a commodore 64...somehow. And then some weird 64/128 monstrosity.
11:51 csharp_ but my uncle had an Apple II plus and tons of pirated software from his computer science colleagues at Floyd College
11:52 redavis Oh dang. That was posh.
11:52 csharp_ somehow my friends and I talked our elementary school principal into letting us klep out of the remaining math chapters and sit in a book closet with Apple IIe computers (6th grade)
11:53 csharp_ we wrote an adventure game with graphics and everything
11:53 csharp_ basic++
11:54 redavis I don't remember what grade I was in when we first touched an Apple IIe. It was 4th or 5th grade. Also, yes on the basic. Then it was more basic in high school on Franklin PCs that just seemed like Apple rip-offs.
11:55 redavis Oh, it was. lol. That explains that.

11:56 csharp_ btw, still waiting on ITS to approve the firewall thing for the list server :-(
11:56 redavis ITS--
11:57 csharp_ and I'm off next week, so it will be a little while before we can have a web UI again
11:57 redavis It's not the end of the world, and you've done a great job wrangling what was possible to wrangle.
11:57 csharp_ I may pop into an EPB meeting to request that the project fund a small amount of web hosting costs to move those out to something community-owned
11:58 csharp_ redavis: thanks
11:58 redavis That's a good idea about the hosting.
11:58 redavis As soon as an agenda goes up for the next meeting, it'd be worth getting it on it.
12:16 abneiman belatedly here for the commune, I don't have a lot of useful skills but my husband does
12:17 abneiman also csharp_++ # listserv wranglin'
12:18 abneiman and yes, csharp_, please do make a board request for that! Especially if it makes mgmt of said easier.

12:20 redavis abneiman, every group needs a scheduler. REQUIRES a scheduler. Better said - a time management expert.
12:20 redavis And you have many skills in addition to that very important one.

13:03 JBoyer All the cool stuff happens while I'm at lunch. I stikll have my (uncle's hand-me-down) trash-80 in a box somewhere along with a pile of other 8-bit antiques I've picked up along the way.
13:04 JBoyer I especially like the Tandy 102 I picked up from a library surplus sale. (It used to run the HVAC system.)
