BDorsey, |

I didn't have the scenario email from Nikki. |
08:26 |
redavis |
So the response from her to my December email was strange. Just FYI. Also, I definitely don't NEED the scenario email. |

You're in the wrong chat :) |
08:26 |

Well, nonetheless. |

Also, I'm waiting for Jason Stephenson, lol |

is it really the wrong chat if they see the message anyway? |

can you run scp command on your virtual machine? I just never tried it before |
13:17 |
jeff |
sure can. lots of possible challenges, but there isn't a general "can't scp to/from a VM" rule/fact. |
13:18 |
jeff |
(not actually sure if that was directed to the channel or to someone specific, but replied anyway!) |
13:19 |
Rogan |
so long as you have networking setup to allow the traffic and your os has scp (any modern ones that don't?) yeah. I routinely do from virtual box vms. |

in step 10 2.e it says to change max_user_sessions:all but if it's not in the default config file, do you just add that? |
14:23 |
mantis1 |
the default has max_user_sessions: 100 |
14:25 |
JBoyer |
mantis1, I think that's a syntax difference between various versions, just changing that 100 to 10000 will take care of it. |

The ejabberd.yml changes a bit between releases. We try to cover that in the README, but it may not always be clear to the reader. |
14:29 |
* Dyrcona |
will not miss ejabberd once we switch to Redis. |

well guess what lol |
14:44 |
mantis1 |
that's the issue I'm running into |
14:44 |
mantis1 |
ejabberd.service: control process excited, code-exited status=1 |
14:45 |
mantis1 |
I remember this being an error before but the forums I've found say it's a version issue - I doubt that's the problem here |

mantis1: What Linux distribution and release? |

Also, you can try `journatlctl -xeu ejabberd.service` to see if ejabberd reported an error. And the ejabberd logs are in /var/log/ejabberd on Debian and Ubuntu. |
14:48 |
mantis1 |
this is Ubuntu Focal 18.04 64 bit |
14:49 |
Dyrcona |
Focal is 20.04, not 18.04. Are you sure it is Focal? |
14:50 |
mantis1 |
that's what I thought but then I saw this before the instructions: (Debian Buster / Ubuntu Focal) Ejabberd 18.x |
14:50 |
mantis1 |
neverminddd I see it says Ejabberd |
14:51 |
Dyrcona |
you probably have a typo or something in the configuration, or you might have forgotten something like editing the /etc/hosts file. |
14:52 |
mantis1 |
okkk it is a os issue I will run through this again |
14:53 |
Dyrcona |
mantis1: Did you disable apparmor for ejabberd? I highly recommend that on Ubuntu. |
14:54 |
Dyrcona |
apparmor doesn't usually cause this problem. You don't usually encounter issues with apparmor until you try to register the users, but it's worth checking. |

I wonder if I can subcontract out needing to take notes for the ECDI meeting tomorrow? I admire those that are good note takers. |
15:27 |

good note takers don't get enough credit, they are invaluable |

anyone know where to "clear content cache" now in EG 3.11 ? |
16:44 |
mmorgan1 |
Bmagic: I think you can do it if you find your way back to the traditional staff catalog. |
16:45 |
Bmagic |
I was about to disable booPAC to see |
16:50 |
mmorgan |
Bmagic: The option is there in boopac, try going to <hostname>/eg/staff/cat/catalog/record/<bibid> |

that's the AngularJS version |

and the Angular editor dropped that feature? |
16:53 |

AKA "traditional staff catalog" There's an lp bug to bring that back to the Angular staff catalog. |
16:54 |
Bmagic |
oh good, that was my next question |
16:54 |
mmorgan |
I wonder if you can just go directly to <hostname>/opac/extras/ac/clearcache/all/r/<bibid> I would think that would work. |
