Good Monday morning folks! We have a library migrating in that has archival material. We've noticed that only subfield the content of tag 300 subfield a shows in the OPAC and staff catalog summary for Physical Description. The units are recorded in subfield f. We'd like these to show after subfield a. Any ideas on how to make that happen? |
09:35 |
jvwoolf |
Ooh I think I found it for the OPAC |

jvwoolf, I think that'll involve changing the xpath for the metabib classes, changing the xslt used to transform the bib from MARC to MODS, or probably both. |
10:02 |
JBoyer |
(Unless the OPAC builds it from component parts, which is always possible) |
10:03 |
jvwoolf |
JBoyer: For the OPAC, I think I found where to add subfield f in template-bootstrap/opac/parts/misc_util.tt2 |
10:03 |
jvwoolf |
templates* |
10:04 |
JBoyer |
Oh, right-o. If you want the staff client to match that'll involve the other method(s), but you can take care of the opac entirely there. |
10:38 |
jvwoolf |
JBoyer: Where do I find the xslt? I looked at the metabib field configs and I only see MODS in the XPATH, so I'm assuming that's where I have to go next. |
10:41 |
jvwoolf |
Oh I think I found it |
10:41 |

config.xml_transform? |
10:42 |
JBoyer |
jvwoolf, yup, that's the one I was thinking about. |

JBoyer: Is there a trick to getting the new xslt to apply? I made the change, restarted services, and ran autogen, but it's still not showing subfield f in the staff cat. |
11:44 |
gmcharlt_ |
jvwoolf: indexing/reingest may be what's mssing. try making a minor change to the bib in question and reload to see if the change you made shows up |

Does anyone here recall if receipt templates in the web client have the noprintcheck/noprint functionality of the XUL client? There was a way to configure a template so that if certain conditions were true, the client would skip printing the slip entirely. |

jeff: the closest webstaff functionality seems to be the no-print context that can be set per template, but it doesn't look like there's an equivalent to the XUL functionality to make it conditional |
12:10 |
jeff |
I'm trying to solve a particular "staff in this area don't want to print transit slips for local transits (capture local holds as transits)" and that option came to mind. |

jeff |
Thanks! |

I'm looking at booking rooms for the hack-away, and the only option that I get when I put in the dates is the Officer's House. Is that all that's left, and did we book it already? |
12:58 |
Dyrcona |
If I add the group rate code, I'm told to call for availability. |
13:03 |
JBoyer |
I didn't get the impression that any of the houses were necessarily part of the block. In years past the Harrison House was handled separately since the Inn rents the whole thing out and it's up to the renter to handle who stays there and has keys, etc. |
13:03 |
JBoyer |
Probably a Q for rfrasur |
13:05 |
Dyrcona |
JBoyer: I emailed rhamby, since I had his email handy. I'm guessing we didn't get the house this year because the hotel offered it to me until I switched from 2 adults to 1. |
13:05 |
Dyrcona |
Dunno if CW MARS would approve it.... :) |
13:05 |
rfrasur |
Reading back |
13:05 |
JBoyer |
A little pricey. ;) |
13:06 |
rfrasur |
The Harrison House is not available. We tried. |

13:06 |

Weird. The hotel offered it to me online. |
13:06 |

sounds like the block is filled out then? |

I'll call and see what they say. |
13:06 |
JBoyer |
Dyrcona, There's the Harrison House that we used to have, and 4 "officer's houses" which are much smaller |
13:06 |
Dyrcona |
Ah ha. That must be it. |
13:07 |
rfrasur |
Dyrcona, I can call and see the status of the block. If you want. I probably need to call anyway. (this is my life now) |
13:07 |
rfrasur |
Their online system isn't the greatest in the world. |
13:08 |
Dyrcona |
Thanks, rfrasur. No, it isn't the greatest. |
13:08 |
Dyrcona |
I'm going to remove the rate code and see what it says about the officer's house out of curiosity. |
13:10 |
jeff |
hack-a-way dates are Mon Oct 23 through Wed Oct 25. Nothing more specific than that, but I wonder if most folk would be planning to arrive Sunday Oct 22 and depart Wednesday Oct 25? |
13:11 |
jeff |
seconding "their online system isn't the greatest" |
13:12 |
Dyrcona |
I was looking for arriving 10/22 departing 10/26. I always end up missing at least half of the last day. |
13:16 |
rhamby |
what rfrasur said |
13:16 |
* Dyrcona |
should not have procrastinated on this. |
13:17 |

One of the Officer's Houses would be a decent deal for 4 or more people. |
13:17 |

I'll keep at it. |

Anyway, it looks like they don't have good availability for that time. Just trying to book a room without the code says to call unless you want a house. |
13:22 |
rhamby |
yeah, they were booked up after taking our room block |
13:22 |
rhamby |
the officer's house is interesting, it says 12 people but I think you might have to be creative to do that |
13:25 |
rfrasur |
Let me take a look. I'm also pending a callback (is that even a sentence?) |
13:26 |
rfrasur |
I'm waiting on a pending callback |

rhamby: does the "after taking out room block" mean that they did not hold the room block until the original release date of 9/23? |
14:02 |
* Dyrcona |
suspects the room block may have filled. |
14:06 |
rhamby |
jeff: they told us that the room block was the remainder of their unfilled rooms, if they have released any of the room block they haven't told us and I will be quite cross |
14:11 |
rfrasur |
Okay........ |
14:11 |
rfrasur |
There are rooms. The website is just...a website. |
14:12 |
rfrasur |
You have to put the code in first...under Rate Options (1023EH) and then select your dates. |
14:12 |
rfrasur |
And then it'll show them. Oh, then you have to click "check availability." |
14:12 |
Dyrcona |
I think the dates make a big difference. |
14:13 |
rfrasur |
They do. |
14:13 |
rfrasur |
They have to be within the block. |
14:13 |
rfrasur |
So, 22-25. Or it doesn't honor the block and gives you no options. |
14:13 |
jihpringle |
what's the best way to report an issue with release notes? the list or a bug report? |
14:16 |
Dyrcona |
jihpringle: Probably the development list, but a bug report would not hurt. |
14:17 |
jihpringle |
thanks Dyrcona, I'll do both |

14:26 |

a work-around would be to use SQL to manually update the relevant library settings to remove the quotes |
14:27 |

or add a TRIM() in the upgrade SQL to remove the double quotes |
