jeff: it won't stop finding perry hits, and there's a performance penalty, but if you turn on the first-word relevance bump for author fields (assuming Parris is the author's last) that might help. and the details of what's going on with stemming in this case is that perris gets the "s" lopped off (de-pluralization), and perry has the "y" replaced with an "i" (suffix folding for "y" and "ie). I've a catalog here that contains "perri" also. the |
