07:49 Dyrcona OMG! The update that is taking 6 minutes in production on Pg 9.6 just ran in 6 seconds on Pg11 with default settings.
07:50 Dyrcona Unless.....
07:50 Dyrcona I think I found something that needs changing for Pg 11....
07:54 Dyrcona No. It just runs really fast. I don't see any errors in the profile output or just doing the update.
07:55 Dyrcona This is very promising!
07:59 Dyrcona Pg11++ which is Pg12 and I'm trying that next. :)
08:01 JBoyer Dyrcona++
08:01 JBoyer That sounds great
08:04 Dyrcona I don't know what other surprises may await us in Pg12 or Pg11, but I think I'm going to switch my main development VM to used the Pg12 database if this test goes well.

11:50 jeff neat. we have an open circulation with a null due_date.

12:15 Dyrcona jeff: Well, that's interesting.
12:17 jeff ah, and closed circs with null due date also. looks like legacy migrated data.
12:19 jeff the open circ is not migrated data, but the xact_finish is a date that i know well as a Big Change day, so I suspect I'll find something related when I look into it later.
12:31 alynn26 does anyone have a suggestion as to why our hold notification action triggers are not honoring the Holds shelf delay?
12:39 jeff alynn26: do you mean the "Hold Shelf Status Delay" org unit setting, circ.hold_shelf_status_delay?
12:40 alynn26 yes
12:41 alynn26 Or am I thinking of the wrong setting.  We are trying to set it up so that Holds notificaiton are delayed. Every library wants a different delay.
12:42 jeff I don't think that the HoldIsAvailable validator respects that setting.
12:44 jeff If I'm right, short of teaching the validator about that setting, I think you'd want to adjust the delay field on the A/T event definition.
12:44 jeff That won't scale well if you have one A/T event definition used across many libraries that all want a different delay.
12:46 alynn26 With all this curbside pickup, that was not the answer I was wanting.

12:56 jeffdavis Seems like it would be easy to take circ.hold_shelf_status_delay into account in the validator though.
12:58 alynn26 Well, I may just try to code this in.  And see if i can get it to work.

14:03 jeff we're starting with appointment slots for pickup.
14:03 jeff holds ready? call to schedule a time to get them.
14:04 jeff we may drop that requirement after a time based on usage/demand, but it's hard to add it later.
14:45 mmorgan Regarding the hold shelf status delay, we were thinking of adjusting the delay field for the notification action trigger, We have one that serves for all libraries right now, but were thinking of cloning it as necessary.
14:45 mmorgan Not sure yet if any of our libraries are going to use the status delay, though. We're recommending capturing local holds as transits.
14:47 Dyrcona We've suggested the local holds as transits. We currently have set the email and SMS notifications to active = false. Some of our members say they want the notification enabled again and some don't. For that I'm considering a filter on hold.available.
14:48 Dyrcona We've also had requests for some kind of local holds only functionality, for whatever local means.

16:48 * miker reads up ... csharp, from yesterday, yes. soft boundary restricts selection_ou to the deepest part of the tree that has an eligible copy. (hard boundary is the highest up the tree it will ever look)
