14:19 dluch Thanks, remingtron and abneiman! Anybody know the progress of this?
14:20 abneiman I do not have any specific updates, other than that I have delivered nudges :)
14:20 tkatie217 Am I correct in assuming that we need to move the server in order to get updated docs for 3.3 and 3.4 on the website?
14:20 remingtron dluch: FYI, I didn't see you post the topic

14:26 Cody Hey all, I'm trying to build a custom catalog search for my local library and struggling with the documentation. http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/reorg/3.0/integrations/index.html seems to be the correct page to start. Is there any way to get JSON or is it only XML?
14:27 remingtron Anyone can help by testing that server and emailing the DIG list (or posting on IRC) any problems they find. There are some obvious ones, and probably many small ones.
14:28 remingtron Cody: Hi! We're holding a Documentation Interest Group meeting here right now, should end shortly, then someone can hopefully answer your question.
14:29 dbs Cody: we're in the middle of a meeting atm but right now there's only XML
14:29 dluch Cody: we're using the IRC channel for the DIG meeting right now, but I'm sure someone can help after!
14:29 dluch lol. Jinx, remingtron
14:29 Cody ok, sorry about that
14:29 dluch No worries!
14:29 sandbergja Cody: no worries!
14:29 dluch Okay, so I'm going to set an action item for all of us on this one
14:30 remingtron dluch: great
14:30 dluch #action Everyone will test the new Antora server and email the DIG list (or IRC) with problems (or suggestions)
14:30 dluch #info We will catch up on other action items and business at the January meeting
14:31 dluch #info January meeting date
14:31 dluch The first Thursday in January is the 1st. I am definitely not going to be at work that day and assume most of you won't, either. So, is the following Thursday, January 9, okay with everyone?
14:32 abneiman 9th is fine with me
14:32 jweston dluch the first Thursday is Jan 2nd but moving it to the 9th sounds fine to me
14:33 remingtron sounds good
14:33 dluch jweston: Thank you for that correction!
14:34 alynn26 sounds good
14:34 dluch Okay, so I WILL be at work on the 2nd, but I still think we should move it to the 9th, which is why I put it on the agenda, I guess. LOL.
14:34 dluch Great.
14:34 dluch January meeting will be on the 9th, same time as usual

14:36 Topic for #evergreen is now Collaboration time (Meeting topic: Evergreen Documentation Interest Group (DIG) Meeting)
14:36 jweston question - is the Antora new link from bmagic going to be open and available for a few days?
14:36 dluch What is everyone planning to work on today? Please let us know here, and feel free to talk and work with each other. If you'd like extra accountability, I can make an action item to show up in the minutes, but it's not necessary.
14:36 dluch I believe so
14:37 abneiman I'll be (finally) committing some docs written by Equinox staff for some 3.4 features
14:37 jweston thanks
14:37 remingtron I'm about to push my navigation cleanups to the Antora branch. Then anyone else is welcome to help there.
14:37 abneiman sandbergja: standby for handholding, please ;-)
14:37 sandbergja abneiman: sure! I will also try to sneak in some review of our docs pull requests in Github
14:39 Cody joined #evergreen
14:41 dluch A couple months ago, I made a pull request for the registration/patron edit form field descriptions I'd finished and then I completely forgot about checking back on it. Did anyone see that and pull it in? I can't even find it now, lol.
14:41 sandbergja remingtron: at this point, should we put new content into the antora branch too?
14:42 remingtron sandbergja: Yes!
14:42 remingtron thanks for thinking of that!
14:42 sandbergja dluch: is it this one? https://github.com/evergreen-library-system/Evergreen/pull/88
14:42 abneiman remingtron: sandbergja: should I hold off pushing my docs them?
14:43 remingtron abneiman: no, don't need to delay
14:43 dluch sandbergja: Yes! Thank you for finding it!
14:43 remingtron just open an LP maybe for adding to the antora docs also
14:44 sandbergja we should make sure that we loop back at some point before launching antora that we haven't left out any new changes
14:44 sandbergja I also need to learn how to add content to antora. :-)
14:44 jweston for the non-committers in the room, shall we continue to send updates/revisions in the usual way and they will be added when and where appropriate?
14:44 dluch sandbergja: Yes, that's a very good idea
14:45 dluch jweston: I assume so. Committers, what say you?
14:45 sandbergja jweston: I think that's a safe assumption
14:46 jweston dluch sandbergja++ thanks
14:46 remingtron jweston: the diretory structure is different under Antora, but individual asciidoc files are basically the same as before
14:47 remingtron okay, I've pushed my latest to the antora collab branch
14:47 remingtron working/collab/blake/LP1848524_antora_ize_docs
14:47 jweston remington: thanks - I'm not even in asciidoc world, yet, but that makes sense to me
14:47 dluch remingtron++
14:47 jweston remingtron++
14:49 sandbergja remington: to check my understanding, if I want to add a new asciidoc file into antora, I add it to the appropriate docs-antora/modules/[NAME OF MODULE]/pages directory, then add an xref to the appropriate nav.adoc?
14:50 sandbergja ^add an xref within the appropriate nav.adoc
14:52 abneiman sandbergja: git is complaining about an untracked file - relevant, or ignorable?
14:52 sandbergja abneiman: probably ignorable!
14:53 sandbergja especially if it's not an asciidoc file
14:53 abneiman sandbergja: no, it appears to be the 3.3.3-3.4.0 upgrade script
14:53 Bmagic jweston: yes
14:53 sandbergja oh... hmmm
14:53 jweston bmagic++
14:53 abneiman sandbergja: Open-ILS/src/sql/Pg/version-upgrade/3.3.3-3.4.0-upgrade-db.sql~HEAD
14:54 sandbergja abneiman: which branch are you on?
14:54 sandbergja (you can run git status to check)
14:54 abneiman master
14:54 sandbergja Is there another version of that file without the ~HEAD business on the end?
14:55 sandbergja (i.e. is there a file called Open-ILS/src/sql/Pg/version-upgrade/3.3.3-3.4.0-upgrade-db.sql)
14:56 abneiman yeah, both that one and ~HEAD are dated 10/21/19
14:56 sandbergja Okay, great! It's safe to ignore that.
14:56 abneiman sandbergja++
14:56 abneiman thank you once again :)
14:56 sandbergja And also safe to just delete the file with ~HEAD in the filename, and then git won't complain about it again
14:57 abneiman sweet, done
14:57 abneiman I wonder if I managed to pull that in doing my nonstandard commit at hackaway
14:58 * abneiman is still obvs a git noob
15:00 remingtron sandbergja: sorry, stepped away for a minute, reading up now...
15:00 remingtron sandbergja: sounds like you've got it right (for adding to Antora docs)
15:01 sandbergja Yay! I'll give that a try then.
15:01 dluch Folks, we are at time. Thanks for all the great work, everyone! Feel free to keep going!
15:01 dluch As decided above, the next meeting will be January 9. Same time, same place. Business meeting first then collaboration time.

15:31 Dyrcona miker: I'll have a look tomorrow. I have a couple of 9.6 and higher pg databases hanging around. Our production db is still 9.5.
15:32 * Dyrcona wonders what the plan will look like with our data on 9.6.

16:08 mmorgan Any thoughts on my question from earlier? What's the easiest way to get a list of bib ids that match a search? Seems like there should be a way to do that.
16:09 dbs mmorgan: might need to be a SQL query
16:10 pinesol [evergreen|Andrea Buntz Neiman] Docs: follow up commit to fix include error - <http://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=Evergreen.git;a=commit;h=bd60935>
16:11 jeff mmorgan: one of the things open-ils.search.biblio.multiclass.query returns is a list of record IDs. It's just surrounded by a lot of other things. See something like https://bugsquash.mobiusconsortium.org/osrf-gateway-v1?service=open-ils.search&method=open-ils.search.biblio.multiclass.query&param=&param=%22harry%20potter%22
16:11 rfrasur Whoa. ProQuest/Ex Libris acquisition of III...must investigate.
16:11 berick jeff++ # was going to suggest the same
16:12 dbs jeff++
16:12 berick may have to pass a "limit" value to avoid the default (which may be low, don't recall)
16:13 berick https://bugsquash.mobiusconsortium.org/osrf-gateway-v1?service=open-ils.search&method=open-ils.search.biblio.multiclass.query&param={limit:1000}&param=%22piano%22
16:13 berick ids":[[88,null,"0.0"],[45,null,"0.0"],[23,null,"0.0"],[63,null,"0.0"],[16,null,"0.0"],[4,null,"0.0"],[12,null,"0.0"],[18,null,"0.0"],[89,null,"0.0"],[80,null,"0.0"]]
16:13 berick first entry in each sub-array under "ids" is the bib id
16:14 jeff there might be another way that's "better" for your use case, perhaps even with the old slimpac URLs or a record feed (but I can't recall offhand if there was a search feed)

16:20 berick or take this super easy approach... search, add to basket, add basket to bucket, open bucket, hide all columns but the ID column, download full grid csv :)
16:38 mmorgan Sorry, got pulled away. We've actually been using record bucket search, but often get too many results to load in the client.
16:40 mmorgan jeff: we're trying to get lists of bib ids for different subject areas that we can run smaller reports off of.
16:41 * mmorgan will look at those opensrf calls.
16:41 jeff what would you do with the record IDs once you have them?
16:42 berick oh heh forgot about bucket search
16:43 mmorgan dbs: an sql query might work? Would this use a function somewhere in the db?
16:46 mmorgan jeff: One of our staff members wrote a great tool that imports a list of bib ids, and individual libraries can run reports of their holdings off of that.
16:48 jeff and you'd like to enhance the tool to be able to take a search query as input, skipping the "export some record IDs" step?
16:49 jeff are the "reports of their holdings" being done in the Evergreen reporter, or internal to the tool in some way?
16:51 mmorgan jeff: internal to the tool. We're not focused on building the query into the tool just yet, we're running into problems getting our bib record sets. We used to be able to get large result sets in record bucket search in the xul client, but the web client has trouble returning the records.
16:51 jeff ah.
16:52 jeff i was just looking at an (unrelated) record bucket bug 1760193 -- does the issue you just described have a bug?
16:52 pinesol Launchpad bug 1760193 in Evergreen "web client: cannot add record to a Record bucket while in the item status screen" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1760193
16:54 mmorgan It does not have a bug, probably should. In xul we increased the hard coded record bucket search limit to accommodate these large searches and xul handled it fine. The web client doesn't do so well.
16:54 jeff how "large" are you talking?
16:54 jeff how many records?
16:54 jeff (sorry, I'm asking lots of questions in response to your question, and I probably don't have any new answers for you right away)
16:55 * mmorgan refreshes memory on the limit set in xul...
16:57 mmorgan In xul the hard coded record bucket limit was 100, we increased it to 10000, which covered the largest searches.
17:01 mmorgan In the web client, the limit is set to 500, https://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=Evergreen.git;a=blob;f=Open-ILS/web/js/ui/default/staff/cat/bucket/record/app.js;h=cdaaaa147bf47e1f81109ff0c6cb27f54988ebc4;hb=HEAD#l499
17:03 mmorgan We can increase it, but it doesn't return results if there are more than 5000 -ish
17:04 * mmorgan will look at opensrf calls and db queries tomorrow.
17:04 mmorgan jeff++
17:04 mmorgan berick++
17:04 mmorgan dbs++
17:05 dbs mmorgan: I was thinking about the search.query_parser_fts() function but generating the query expected by param_query parameter will be hard
17:09 * mmorgan will take a look tomorrow, runs off to attempt to beat traffic
17:10 mmorgan Thanks!
