So, that SIP thing I mentioned on Friday: http://irc.evergreen-ils.org/evergreen/2018-07-06#i_366727 |
09:53 |
Dyrcona |
I think it is actually a permission thing. I seem to recall running into this last year or the year before, figuring it out, planning to fix it in our database, and then not doing it. :) |
09:54 |
Dyrcona |
Cant' find any notes on it, though, so I have to start over. |

Dyrcona, do you have your SIP users using a suggested permission set from somewhere? (I know there's a list of perms suggested in the NCIP docs, I can't remember at the moment if there's a similar list somewhere for SIP) |
10:04 |
JBoyer |
Hopefully something just needs a depth adjustment since there doesn't appear to be a VIEW_BILLS permission anywhere. |
10:07 |
Dyrcona |
JBoyer: I recall it being some sort of VIEW permission that was just not granted, but as always, I'm working on more than 1 thing at a time. I will likely look into it later today. |
10:07 |
JBoyer |
True. Just hoping to perhaps jostle a memory. :) Good luck! |

I believe it is VIEW_USER_TRANSACTIONS that was missing... |

there is a wiki page with recommended SIP user permissions: https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=evergreen-admin:sip |

10:25 |
Dyrcona |
Ah ha! |
10:25 |
Dyrcona |
It's the group this user is in. There's a 3rd SIP2 group called View only. |
10:26 |
Dyrcona |
Now, why would an account named "*ecommerce" be view only? |
10:28 |
JBoyer |
Dyrcona++ # detecting |
10:28 |
Dyrcona |
Well, it all comes back, now... :) |
10:29 |
JBoyer |
Not a lot of good hypothetical answers to that hypothetical question though. ;) |
10:29 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah. I'm going to change it on my test database. Put the test library's users in the most permissive group. |
10:29 |
Dyrcona |
They have 3 sip accounts. |
10:30 |
Dyrcona |
I think the view only group needs the permissions changed. |
10:30 |
|
rlefaive joined #evergreen |

Dyrcona |
I wouldn't be surprised if ecommerce is meant to be in the most permissive group, SIP-Pay, and it's in the other by accident. |
10:35 |
Dyrcona |
The profile ids are 321 and 322 so easy to make a mistake. |
10:53 |
Dyrcona |
Be funny if the whole reason the library requested this enhancement is a permissions issue. :) |
10:53 |
Dyrcona |
The vendor said "Evergreen can't provide fine item detail." |
10:54 |
Dyrcona |
Sure it can, if the proper profile is used. :) |
11:03 |
jeff |
which vendor? |
11:04 |
Dyrcona |
Envisionware believe it or not. |
11:05 |
Dyrcona |
I would think that they would know better. |
11:05 |
Dyrcona |
But, I really should not have quoted them since I got that information second hand. :) |
11:05 |
Dyrcona |
What we do provide isn't "standard" though. |
11:08 |
Dyrcona |
Too bad it only took a year... :P |
11:11 |
Dyrcona |
Too many people named Chris in my address book...... |
11:12 |
jeff |
Yeah, I blame another vendor for that. I tried to build support for delimited details per their spec, and they said "oh, we don't support that -- nobody supports that. we much prefer that you just pass mostly-freeform strings like this" -- and then a few years later were complaining to me about how they wish we provided delimited data like in their spec PDF. :-) |
11:12 |
jeff |
somewhere there was a breakdown in communication. :-) |

Yeahp. |
11:15 |
Dyrcona |
I've basically got 3 formats: 3M, as suggested in the SIP2 documentation, Swyer A and Swyer B, 2 alternates from a document put out by some group named Swyer. |
11:16 |
Dyrcona |
The idea is to support all 3, plus what Evergreen does now, via config options. |
11:16 |
Dyrcona |
But, if what Evergreen does now is a mistake, we can probably remove it. |
11:24 |
jeff |
no, i wouldn't suggest that. |
11:25 |
jeff |
as it would break existing setups for little reason. |
11:25 |
Dyrcona |
Right, OK. I wasn't leaning very strongly toward removing it. |
11:25 |
jeff |
recommending a different setup for new installs or installs looking to change would be good, probably. |
11:27 |
Dyrcona |
The code we've got, which I have not, yet, successfully tested, keeps the current behavior as the default. |

with the move to action.usr_circ_history in bug 1527342, was there ever anything that migrated previously existing circ history? for whatever reason, i'm not seeing anything in upgrade script or related commits or release notes or in the bug. |

Speaking of upgrades, I'm wondering why the signed off fix for bug 1776557 / bug 1669856 would not have gotten included in the 3.0.9 or 3.1.3 releases. Is it because they lack a target? |
