lol - a follow-up to my question about the staff client library timeout setting. It appears that this setting is consulted for web client timeouts. |
08:21 |
kmlussier |
I had set it to 10 seconds the other day when I was testing it, and was just cursing at the web client this morning because it kept logging me out. |
08:22 |
kmlussier |
I'm not sure why it didn't work in my earlier testing, though. Could it be a browser issue? I tested it in Firefox, but was using Chrome this morning when it started working. |
08:23 |
kmlussier |
No, it's working in Firefox now too. |
08:34 |
Dyrcona |
Could be a cache issue. |

Looking at the release notes for copy tags, it says: "This feature was designed to be used for Digital Bookplates to attach donation or memorial information to copies, but may be used for broader purposes to tag items." |
09:53 |
kmlussier |
Does anyone have an example of those broader purposes copy tags can be used for |
09:53 |
kmlussier |
? |
09:55 |
kmlussier |
Every idea I've come up with turns out being more related to bibs than copies. |
09:56 |

autographed copies? |

09:57 |
kmlussier |
Yes, that could work. |
09:57 |
Dyrcona |
I was going to suggest displayable copy notes. |
09:58 |
gmcharlt |
... that have a controlled vocabulary |
09:58 |
kmlussier |
Dyrcona: Well, then you would just add a public copy note, right? |
09:58 |
|
Lelandthelibrari joined #evergreen |
09:59 |
Dyrcona |
Well, I suppose you could have done that for "digital book plates," too. |
09:59 |
kmlussier |
From what I can tell, other than the controlled vocabulary, the key difference between notes and tags is that tags are searchable. |

Before I leave for the day, I'm going to leave a question about offline circ. When I tested offline circ, I always tested it in an environment where I lost Internet. |

But I never tested the scenario where people need to use offline because the system is down. |

I've noticed that when I bring my VMs down, the staff login page shows the menu bar, but, otherwise, is white. How will staff get to offline circ in those cases when the system is down? |
