I just simplified my Evergreen life. |
09:29 |
Dyrcona |
We used to have this complicated table to map eresource vendor ids to records. |
09:30 |
Dyrcona |
I'm just gonna use asset.uri, etc. instead. |
09:30 |
Dyrcona |
Maybe make a view or a custom db function. |

Actually, you can. I just don't think it lets you do anything. |
14:29 |
Dyrcona |
:) |
14:29 |
Dyrcona |
Also, is there still a problem if you're browser has a workstation remembered but the database doesn't have it? |
14:29 |
kmlussier |
Well, it will force you to a workstation registration page until you set a workstation. So it's as good as not logging in. :) |
14:30 |
kmlussier |
Dyrcona: Nope |
14:30 |
Dyrcona |
That's good news. |
14:30 |
kmlussier |
Dyrcona: It will give a useful message and bounce you to the workstation registration page. |
14:31 |
Dyrcona |
OK. I haven't done that for a while, 'cause I've not been using a client on the vm that gets reinstalled the most. |

Yes, always good to retest assumptions from time to time. |

I would send a reply to the email, but my lost email to the general list was a reply to the same thread. Not that there was anything insightful in that email. Mainly confirming what mmorgan found and asking for more detail. |
14:36 |
Dyrcona |
I have been using the webstaff client for most of my recent testing, though. |
14:49 |
mmorgan |
Dyrcona: What do you use your new uri table and view for? |
14:51 |
Dyrcona |
Removing 856s from bib records. |
14:52 |
Dyrcona |
The table is for vendors and holds some data about them, including two regexes: one to identify their URLs, and the second to get the vendor's record id from the URL. |
14:52 |
Dyrcona |
The view just combines that table with asset.uri, uri_call_number_map, and call_number. |
14:55 |
Dyrcona |
There has been a custom here of combining URLs from different vendors in the same MARC record or "regular" MARC records. |
14:56 |
mmorgan |
Interesting, so when a library drops a resource from vendor x, it helps you remove the associated 856 fields by vendor. |

Is it a bad idea to run Evergreen 2.11.x with OpenSRF 2.5 ? |

ponders back-porting ub-16.04 support to osrf 2.4 |
15:25 |
Dyrcona |
I just install the prereqs from master/2.5 and then install 2.4, but it would be easier if it were backported. |
15:26 |

On 16.04, of course. |

we did similar when we were running 2.7 on Jessie. Ansible checked out one branch to do the pre-req install, then checked out a different branch to install Evergreen. :-) |

To elaborate, the open-ils.search service died on one of our servers (just upgraded to OSRF 2.5/EG 2.12) for no apparent reason. The above is all I found in the logs. |

the logs show no errors leading up to that one, aside from a few "no active transaction to roll back" messages almost 10 minutes prior |
