13:31 Dyrcona I noticed that an i18n commit went in earlier.
13:31 Dyrcona That reminds me that ar-AR should be changed to es-AR.
13:31 Dyrcona Or, is that really an Arabic translation?
13:33 Dyrcona If it is Arabic, then it should be ar-SA.
13:34 Dyrcona Or, maybe it could be deleted, since there appear to be no translations for it at all.
13:35 jihpringle joined #evergreen
13:36 Dyrcona So, it is Arabic and a few strings have been translated.
13:39 * Dyrcona considers a LP bug and a branch to fix it at last.
13:41 Bmagic jeff: thanks for taking a look
13:41 Bmagic Anyone else have an opinion on it? Dyrcona?
13:41 dbs There's a pretty long history of using repeated language codes for the region portion of the locale code, even though the region doesn't exist, to avoid regionality
13:42 dbs E.g. "it's just Arabic but we're forced to have a region code"
13:42 dbs https://www.facebook.com/translations/FacebookLocales.xml for example
13:42 Dyrcona dbs: I'm commenting on the old bug with two possibilities. I think we ought to just remove it.
13:45 Dyrcona I decided just on suggesting we remove it.
13:46 Dyrcona Bmagic: Were you asking about your group formats and editions link from earlier or about something else?
13:46 * Dyrcona hasn't been paying that much attention today.
13:47 Bmagic yeah, that UNION query I posted to the working repo
13:47 Bmagic trying to INclude electronic bibs without items attached
13:49 jboyer-laptaupe joined #evergreen
13:50 Dyrcona Bmagic: Just eyeballing it looks OK.
13:51 Bmagic Are there other reasons that electronic bibs can be visible other than the two additional UNION statements there?
13:51 tsbere Bmagic: If I am looking at the right query I wonder if $1/$2 functions correctly in there. If so using that syntax instead of ? would allow for re-use of a single input param.
13:51 Dyrcona Although the second UNION query looks odd to me.
13:52 Dyrcona $1, $2 would work there. The query is single-quoted.
13:52 * tsbere looks at it again and wonders why the call number check is being done at all, or the source is not null check...
13:53 Bmagic tsbere: yeah, there is some map {} magic happening below the comment "it puts the record ID in front of each param. see $q above"
13:53 Dyrcona I think that is to pull records from transcendant [sic] sources without call numbers/uris.
13:53 gtownjoe_ joined #evergreen
13:53 tsbere Bmagic: Actually, the call number check looks *wrong*. The call number *record* is what you would compare bib IDs to, not the call number ID
13:54 Dyrcona What looks wrong to me is comparing the bre.id to acn.id.
13:54 Dyrcona I think it should be bre.id not in (select acn.record....)
13:54 * tsbere thinks that is what he just said
13:54 Dyrcona But that might not even be necessary.
13:54 Bmagic ah, yes, good catch, that should be record FROM  asset.call_number
13:54 Dyrcona I was typing as you were typing :)
13:55 Dyrcona Could just left join on acn and acn is null.
13:55 tsbere Bmagic: I think you can skip that check entirely. By transcendant rules even bibs with copies/call numbers should, as far as I know, show up.
13:56 tsbere Even if they are for an out of scope lib
13:56 gtownjoe_ @weather 45327
13:56 pinesol_green gtownjoe_: Germantown, OH :: Mostly Cloudy :: 69F/21C | Friday: Cloudy skies. High 68F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. Much cooler. Low 42F. Winds light and variable. | Updated: 21m ago
13:56 Dyrcona Yeah, I think I agree with tsbere on that.
13:56 Bmagic tsbere: electronic bibs do not have copies
13:57 Dyrcona Bmagic: They might if staff added them.
13:57 tsbere Bmagic: I disagree. "should not have" maybe...
13:57 Dyrcona We've had that happen.
13:57 Dyrcona Hence the can_have_volumes/copies flags on bib source.
13:57 tsbere Not to mention "fake barcode to make it show up when you scope to us" headaches
13:57 dbs fake_barcodes--
13:58 Bmagic if there is a copy attached, the old query worked, but we need bibs without copies attached but with 856$9 to show up too
13:58 tsbere Bmagic: To put it another way, I think you can skip that check entirely as anything the old query picked up will *still be picked up* regardless
13:58 jeff Bmagic: oh, also: remember that the visibility/scoping of located URI call numbers differs based on that setting I pointed out yesterday. Forgot to remind you of that, but I think you'll need to take it into account.
13:59 tsbere Picking it up twice isn't an issue
13:59 Dyrcona I think your first union takes care of those with a proper $9.
13:59 * dbs took great delight in deleting all fake barcodes and copies earlier this year
13:59 dbs s/and copies/and callnumbers/
13:59 Dyrcona Transcendant bibs are supposed to show up without copies and without URI.
14:00 tsbere dbs: I wish I could delete more of the wacky barcodes, but I have been told repeatedly that I shouldn't be doing so. >_>
14:00 Dyrcona heh.
14:00 tsbere Dyrcona: I would say "regardless of copies or URI"
14:00 Bmagic so the transcendent bibs are in asset.opac_visible_copies  ? without a copy attached?
14:00 jeff Bmagic: no.
14:00 tsbere Bmagic: No, but you can skip the call number on the union looking at the flag
14:00 gmcharlt no copies == no visible copies :)
14:01 Bmagic ok, I thought so.
14:01 Dyrcona We currently use it for Overdrive and Safari Online records that show up everywhere.
14:02 tsbere Bmagic: I would remove the lines from "AND id NOT" and "AND source IS NOT NULL", inclusive, basically.
14:02 Bmagic Dyrcona: and those show up in a grouped format search?
14:02 Dyrcona Bmagic: I believe the complaint is that they show up when they should not, actually.
14:03 Dyrcona I changed the configuration in our training system to add located URIs last year, but so far have gotten no feedback from members about it.
14:03 Bmagic Dyrcona: The issue is doing a grouped search, the grouped results show that an E-book is a member of the group, but when you click the grouped result, the following page does not show the e-book
14:04 Bmagic Here is a live example http://missourievergreen.org/eg/opac/results?detail_record_view=1;detail_record_view=1;query=harry%20potter;qtype=title;fi%3Asearch_format=book;locg=2;modifier=metabib
14:04 Dyrcona Bmagic: That's one of the issues. The one I was thinking of is that Overdrive and Safari records sill show up when a search is limited by copy location.
14:04 mmorgan joined #evergreen
14:04 tsbere Bmagic: For that kind of issue you will want to basically always include matching non-deleted transcendant bibs. Regardless of located uri/copy/call number entries.
14:04 Bmagic The third result shows E-Book
14:05 Dyrcona Bmagic: I think if you do what tsbere suggests with the code, it will be correct.
14:05 bmills joined #evergreen
14:05 Bmagic click the third result, and the OPAC doesn't show the e-book that it previously claimed was apart of the group
14:07 Shae joined #evergreen
14:08 Bmagic tsbere: the reason that AND source IS NOT NULL is there - it makes the query run much faster when source is in fact null (most of the time for us)
14:09 tsbere Bmagic: Ok, if it is there for triggering indexes then leave that line in but remove the others.
14:09 * tsbere has nothing against seemingly useless where clauses that trigger indexes ;)
14:10 kmlussier Finally finished notes from our Syrup / course reserves discussion at http://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=scratchpad:course_reserves

14:13 tsbere Though I suppose I can complain about the blank line ;)
14:13 Dyrcona We run a script to set null sources to system local.
14:13 Bmagic tsbere++ Dyrcona++ jeff++
14:14 Dyrcona I'd make so that they can't be null, but that breaks stuff.
14:14 tsbere Dyrcona: I only recall fixing OCLC ones that were left null. But I may just not have had to touch/review that recently enough...
14:15 Dyrcona tsbere: You probably remember more details than I do. :)
14:15 Dyrcona I tend to push "unnecessary" information out rather quickly.
14:15 jeff % int(time_taken) / indexed_count)

14:16 jeff pretty sure I'd be happier if that said "'int' and 'str'"
14:16 bmills joined #evergreen
14:16 tsbere Dyrcona: Well, on one hand I can't find anything that does system local. On the other I did find "oh, fix Overdrive records that are in the wrong source" before the OCLC fixer.
14:17 Dyrcona Like I said....
14:17 jeff er, nope.
14:17 jeff % int(time_taken) / int(indexed_count))

14:17 * tsbere wonders what jeff is working on
14:18 * tsbere also wonders if the problem is somewhere before that
14:18 * Dyrcona guesses it has something to do with ElasticSearch or was it Solr?
14:18 jeff I have a python script that I was adding some timing to a loop.
14:18 jeff And I'm doing something silly.
14:20 tsbere jeff: I wonder about the extra ) too ;)
14:20 * tsbere assumes that is from previous line/text that isn't shown though
14:20 Dyrcona probably opens on a previous line.
14:20 * jeff nods
14:21 jeff oh.

14:23 tsbere (int wrappers may not be needed)
14:23 jeff that's trying to divide the string 'Average time per record: X' by an integer. :-)
14:23 jeff tsbere: *nod*
