Anyone else have an opinion on it? Dyrcona? |
13:41 |
dbs |
There's a pretty long history of using repeated language codes for the region portion of the locale code, even though the region doesn't exist, to avoid regionality |
13:42 |
dbs |
E.g. "it's just Arabic but we're forced to have a region code" |
13:42 |
dbs |
https://www.facebook.com/translations/FacebookLocales.xml for example |
13:42 |
Dyrcona |

jboyer-laptaupe joined #evergreen |

Bmagic: Just eyeballing it looks OK. |
13:51 |
Bmagic |
Are there other reasons that electronic bibs can be visible other than the two additional UNION statements there? |
13:51 |
tsbere |
Bmagic: If I am looking at the right query I wonder if $1/$2 functions correctly in there. If so using that syntax instead of ? would allow for re-use of a single input param. |
13:51 |
Dyrcona |
Although the second UNION query looks odd to me. |
13:52 |
Dyrcona |
$1, $2 would work there. The query is single-quoted. |
13:52 |
* tsbere |
looks at it again and wonders why the call number check is being done at all, or the source is not null check... |
13:53 |
Bmagic |
tsbere: yeah, there is some map {} magic happening below the comment "it puts the record ID in front of each param. see $q above" |
13:53 |
Dyrcona |
I think that is to pull records from transcendant [sic] sources without call numbers/uris. |
13:53 |
|
gtownjoe_ joined #evergreen |
13:53 |
tsbere |
Bmagic: Actually, the call number check looks *wrong*. The call number *record* is what you would compare bib IDs to, not the call number ID |
13:54 |
Dyrcona |
What looks wrong to me is comparing the bre.id to acn.id. |
13:54 |
Dyrcona |
I think it should be bre.id not in (select acn.record....) |
13:54 |
* tsbere |
thinks that is what he just said |
13:54 |
Dyrcona |
But that might not even be necessary. |

13:55 |
Dyrcona |
Could just left join on acn and acn is null. |
13:55 |

if there is a copy attached, the old query worked, but we need bibs without copies attached but with 856$9 to show up too |
13:58 |

Bmagic: To put it another way, I think you can skip that check entirely as anything the old query picked up will *still be picked up* regardless |

14:00 |

no copies == no visible copies :) |
14:01 |
Bmagic |
ok, I thought so. |
14:01 |
Dyrcona |
We currently use it for Overdrive and Safari Online records that show up everywhere. |
14:02 |
tsbere |
Bmagic: I would remove the lines from "AND id NOT" and "AND source IS NOT NULL", inclusive, basically. |
14:02 |
Bmagic |
Dyrcona: and those show up in a grouped format search? |
14:02 |
Dyrcona |
Bmagic: I believe the complaint is that they show up when they should not, actually. |
14:03 |
Dyrcona |
I changed the configuration in our training system to add located URIs last year, but so far have gotten no feedback from members about it. |
14:03 |
Bmagic |
Dyrcona: The issue is doing a grouped search, the grouped results show that an E-book is a member of the group, but when you click the grouped result, the following page does not show the e-book |
14:04 |
Bmagic |
Here is a live example http://missourievergreen.org/eg/opac/results?detail_record_view=1;detail_record_view=1;query=harry%20potter;qtype=title;fi%3Asearch_format=book;locg=2;modifier=metabib |
14:04 |
Dyrcona |
Bmagic: That's one of the issues. The one I was thinking of is that Overdrive and Safari records sill show up when a search is limited by copy location. |
14:04 |
|
mmorgan joined #evergreen |
14:04 |
tsbere |
Bmagic: For that kind of issue you will want to basically always include matching non-deleted transcendant bibs. Regardless of located uri/copy/call number entries. |

* tsbere |
also wonders if the problem is somewhere before that |
14:18 |
* Dyrcona |
guesses it has something to do with ElasticSearch or was it Solr? |
14:18 |
jeff |
I have a python script that I was adding some timing to a loop. |
14:18 |
jeff |
And I'm doing something silly. |
14:20 |
tsbere |
jeff: I wonder about the extra ) too ;) |
14:20 |
* tsbere |
assumes that is from previous line/text that isn't shown though |
14:20 |
Dyrcona |
probably opens on a previous line. |

yeah, i was doing something silly. |

logging.info('Average time per record: %s' % int(time_taken) / int(indexed_count)) |
14:23 |
tsbere |
jeff: In *that* case I would wrap the time_taken through indexed_count in () |
14:23 |
tsbere |
(int wrappers may not be needed) |
14:23 |
jeff |
that's trying to divide the string 'Average time per record: X' by an integer. :-) |
14:23 |
jeff |
tsbere: *nod* |
14:24 |
jeff |
or, i just went ahead and did the math on the line prior. |
14:24 |
tsbere |
That works too |
14:25 |
jeff |
now I'll just clean things up a bit in terms of format strings... |

csharp: I just did some testing and the code loads fine, but there is a logic error in my attempt. I am looking for lineitems that are the same in the acq.lineitem table when I need to look for eg_bib_id duplicates. Not sure how long this will take to rectify. |

i haven't disabled network access in my script, and loc.gov is... apparently having issues, so creating my MODS XSLT object hangs. |
