I'm in the process of installing opensrf for the first time, and seem to be stuck on step 10, creating the opensrf jabber users |
13:51 |
ohiojoe |
each time I try to involk the command, it responds that it cannot register the user to be precise: Can't register user routerprivate.egserver at node ejabberdegserver: not_allowed |

I'm using Debian Wheezy in a VM on my desktop, so I don't have valid domain names to assign at the moment.. |

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I'm missing here? Each time I am trying I am logged in as root.. |

ohiojoe: private.egserver and not private.localhost? |

I'm still troubleshooting an issue with our Z39.50 server. I have it up and running and can connect via yaz-client locally, but all attempts from outside fail with a "No such file or directory" error. |

I've double checked the firewall and the proper ports are listening |

As far as I can tell, literally nothing has changed. But for some reason it no longer allows outside connections. |

hello. Yes, I believe it's in etc/hosts.. I'll double check that. Also, I started with just private.localhost and public.localhost, but started to try to pair to the system name after trying a couple of things to try to fix it |

ohiojoe |
maybe I need to go back to the original in the instructions if it typically works.. my first thought was that it was a config or config/permissions issue.. |
21:11 |

Editing those xml config files is always fiddly. |

It doesn't help that private srf, public srf, private router, and public router are not in a consistent order. |
