07:34 paxed most people here are in the US, so wait a few more hours and they might be awake.

09:33 krvmga Evergreen 2.5, when i do Advanced search, Expert search, tag 526 subfield a, value accelerated reading - Search Library: Springfield - Search; i get a 500 error.
09:33 krvmga we haven't customized expert.tt2 at all.
09:33 krvmga not sure why this error is popping up
09:33 krvmga it may have been there for quite a while but not noticed because expert search isn't used much.
09:34 krvmga also get the same error with other tags, so it's not limited to 526
09:34 krvmga any thoughts?

09:41 jeff krvmga: do you receive the 500 error immediately or after >10 seconds?
09:44 krvmga jeff: it takes a LONG time; at first i was thinking it was a timeout
09:48 mmorgan krvmga: We had similar experiences with the 500 error using expert search. We also had expert search queries not finishing and causing high load on the db.
09:49 Dyrcona krvmga: Check the server logs for NOT CONNECTED TO NETWORK, but that usually leads to internal server error and not just no response.
09:49 mmorgan we removed the expert search option from our catalog because of this.
09:49 jeff krvmga: that's what i was thinking was likely -- a timeout on the search query leading to the 500 internal server error you reported.
09:51 krvmga Dyrcona: i'll check

10:48 Dyrcona For the channel, one of krvmga's bricks was throwing errors about open-ils.storage being not connected to the network.
10:48 krvmga we restarted the service and reloaded apache

11:28 krvmga at cwmars we have a multi-brickhead environment. if i'm in the staff client, i'm assuming that every time i click on something like item status or patron registration, i'm getting results from different brickheads.
11:28 krvmga i don't know that this is true, i'm just assuming it.
11:29 krvmga i labeled the footers in our opac with roman numerals. if you do an opac search at http://bark.cwmars.org , you can always see which brickhead you've started your search on and which brickhead you get your results from.
11:30 mmorgan krvmga++ #clever!
11:33 Bmagic I think I have asked this before but maybe not. Can the reporting engine get any marc tag or only the "indexed" ones listed in the template editor? We would like to dump out a list of 520 fields on some records using the reporting engine.
11:34 krvmga mmorgan: this originally came out of my troubleshooting the TPAC. sometimes one particular brickhead would have a problem and it could be hard to tell which one.
11:34 krvmga it's proved useful to others in the office, though, too.
11:35 tsbere Bmagic: You can get normalized data out fairly easily for pretty much everything. Non-normalized is a tad harder.
11:35 krvmga i also labeled the index.xhtml splash page in the client so that we could see the same thing.
11:36 Bmagic tsbere: oh? The choices presented in the tree dont seem to have the 520
11:36 tsbere Bmagic: Metabib.real_full_rec (or just metabib.full_rec) has tag/subfield columns. Dunno what the reporter name for that is, though. With that you can get quite a bit out.
11:38 Bmagic tsbere: Im familiar with the table, I just dont see it manifested in the reporting engine. Perhaps I need to start with that as the base table?
11:39 tsbere Bmagic: "Flattened MARC Fields"
11:41 Bmagic tsbere: In the distant past, I recall playing with that tree and got nothing. I will take another wack at it.
11:45 mmorgan Bmagic: you may want to have a look at this thread on the mailing list http://georgialibraries.markmail.org/thread/jvknfqxpflpogioh

13:55 kmlussier I set up a wiki account for one of the opw candidates yesterday, but she never received the e-mail with login details. I then changed my password on the wiki and selected the "Notify User" option to see if I had any trouble. I never received the e-mail.
13:56 kmlussier I totally forgot about it until now when another opw candidate asked for a wiki account. I haven't heard back yet on whether she received the e-mail, but is it possible that the recent problems at evergreen-ils.org may have affected e-mail from the wiki?
13:56 Dyrcona kmlussier: Seems to be a lot of that going around.
14:11 kmlussier Yup. I just created a new wiki account for myself with my gmail address, and I didn't receive the e-mail with my login information. csharp: Is that something you can look into?

14:57 csharp kmlussier: check your gmail now
14:57 csharp it may have worked - I flushed the mail queue (which should attempt to re-send) and your message is no longer in the queue

15:00 Stompro tsbere, I just received a bounce notice when I tried to email gitadmin, saying that your mvlc.org address was rejected.
15:01 tsbere Stompro: I would need to know more than that to diagnose anything
15:03 Stompro tsbere: Of course, how would you like to receive the info, paste.evergreen-ils.org?
15:03 tsbere Stompro: Actually, looking at things, I may have just spotted the log on our end. Gimme a min to check something.
15:03 Stompro tsbere: whoops, it did give me an spf error.. so maybe it is on our end.
15:04 csharp maybe the email server on lupin needed a kick after changing DNS servers
15:04 Stompro ... Or is the spf error because gitadmin@ forwards it on..
15:04 csharp in any case, I restarted postfix and flush the postqueue
15:05 tsbere csharp: I had an old IP for lupin in our access lists......though stopping using ALIASES for these things and moving to actual list software that doesn't piss off SPF checks would be nice. :P
15:06 csharp we have list.evergreen-ils.org available for creating new lists, fwiw
15:06 * tsbere does not think aliases should, under normal circumstances, cross administrative boundaries. That is, don't alias to a domain that isn't 100% in your own control. >_>
15:06 tsbere csharp: And gitadmin@ is not a list, it is an alias, and I had nothing to do with creating it. :P
15:06 csharp right
15:07 * tsbere apologizes for being annoyed, but this week has been nothing but email related issues it seems
15:08 Stompro tsbere: I'll resend now, thanks for fixing the problem.
15:08 tsbere Stompro: Note that I am probably the only one out of at least 3 that didn't get a copy
15:08 tsbere as such if you re-send the others will get dupes ;)
15:09 Stompro tsbere: I'll just send it to you so you don't feel left out. :-)
15:10 csharp a list would probably help with spam filtering too, fwiw
15:11 * csharp didn't make the decision about the aliases either
15:11 csharp they were before my time ;-)
15:11 kmlussier csharp: Thanks! E-mails are now coming through.
15:11 kmlussier csharp++
15:13 csharp cool
15:14 tsbere kmlussier: Actually, if you are on any aliases, you are probably benefitting from me fixing the access list. Given that you are on the same server as me and the messages are coming from the same place ;)
15:15 kmlussier tsbere: No, I also tested with my gmail address just to rule out MVLC being the issue. :)

15:58 Stompro KPAC question, the official docs show two different skins/templates for the kpac, http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/dev/_kids_opac.html#_choose_a_skin, but I cannot find where the instructions are for finding the Monster Skin and enabling it.  Also, the Alternate skin seems to be the default, which to me seems backwards.  Shouldn't the skin that isn't default be the alternate?
16:00 kmlussier Stompro: Did you look in the TechRef section of the doc repository? I think there is some info there that didn't make it into the existing docs.
16:01 kmlussier I started a branch to move it to the official docs, but there was something not quite right with the steps. https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1116387
16:01 pinesol_green Launchpad bug 1116387 in Evergreen 2.4 "Add KPAC configuration information to the community docs" (affected: 3, heat: 14) [Medium,Triaged]
16:02 * kmlussier thinks it was the alternate skin information she got wrong.
16:02 kmlussier It was something that I had basically copied and pasted from an IRC log.
16:05 Stompro kmlussier: I did look through the / docs / TechRef / KidsOPAC.txt but that doesn't mention the two skins.
16:06 Stompro kmlussier: I'm looking at the bug you linked to, thanks that has the skin info.
16:07 kmlussier Stompro: It does, but, from what bshum said, it's not quite right, so it made need additional adjustment.
16:07 kmlussier On the other hand, if you figure out where it went wrong, you can correct my docs and we can finally have something in the official documentation. :)
16:10 kmlussier @marc 526
16:10 pinesol_green kmlussier: A note giving the name of a study program which uses the title described in the record. Details about the study program data elements are also contained in the field. Field 526 is generally used for formal curriculum-based study or reading programs. (Repeatable) [a,b,c,d,i,x,z,5,6,8]
16:10 Stompro kmlussier: Sure, I'll try it out and see where the inconsistencies might be and update the docs.
16:15 * kmlussier suspects that the 526 is probably used for more than just Accelerated Reader and that reading level in subfield c probably differs depending on which program is being used.

17:51 whargrove Hi all, is it possible to configure evergreen to require a terminal password for SIP commands?
18:01 jeffdavis whargrove: What do you mean by a terminal password? Our SIP clients (self-check machines etc) do need to submit a username and password for authorization before they can do anything...
18:05 whargrove jeffdavis: Right, I understand that and we have verified our SIP client works with evergreen
18:05 whargrove jeffdavis: we are using Evergreen as a dev sandbox
18:06 whargrove and another vendor wants us to send terminal password and we want to test it with evergreen
18:06 whargrove not a requirement for SIP to work with evergreen, but I want to see if I can test the changes with our evergreen server
