Launchpad bug 1005040 in Evergreen "TPAC: eliminate advanced search filters from subsequent basic search box" (affected: 5, heat: 26) [Medium,Confirmed] |

Sorry to bother you all again but have a weird problem. A while back we did a test migration and everything went fairly well. Just did another prior to going live to make sure all the changes to the process were solid...now the copy locations show as being attached to Org_Units that don't exist. |
08:54 |
jtaylor_ |
They show things like BR1, SM1, etc. Can't find those values anywhere. |
08:54 |
jtaylor_ |
I've gone back and verified that my org_unit ids are correct on the copy records and the copy_locations. |
08:54 |
jtaylor_ |
Any ideas? |
08:55 |
krvmga |
BR1 is a fake ou installed with concerto, i think |
08:55 |
jtaylor_ |
Yes...but I removed those prior to the load. |
08:55 |
jtaylor_ |
Some of the codes anyway....don't remember seeing some that are being displayed. |
08:56 |
csharp |
jtaylor_: did you run 'autogen.sh -u' after making the changes? |
08:56 |
csharp |
(as the opensrf user on any Evergreen application servers) |
08:56 |
jtaylor_ |
We were wondering if we missed a step. I wasn't invovled when they did the setup before and one person thought there was another step involved. |
08:57 |
jtaylor_ |
Will it fix things even after having loaded records? |
08:57 |
jtaylor_ |
...or does it have to be done prior to the load? |
08:57 |
csharp |
jtaylor_: it only affects the display in the staff client/opac |
08:57 |
jtaylor_ |
Okay. We'll give that a go. Thanks. |
08:58 |
jtaylor_ |
Odd that doesn't get mentioned in any of the documenation I read. |
08:58 |
csharp |
but if you're seeing "old" names for units in the OPAC or staff client, sounds like you didn't run autogen.sh |
08:58 |
jtaylor_ |
Maybe I'm just reading the wrong things :-) |
08:58 |
jtaylor_ |
Thanks again...off to give it a try. |

hates having to add PPAs to get versions of software that works with Evergreen. |

I was wondering that as well ... I figured multiple 856s covered that, but it could be a nice optimization |
14:03 |

(cataloging optimization, I mean, not code, per se) |

Hmm, would adding more fingerprint data points be as simple as adding new entries to config.biblio_fingerprint ? |

Or adjusting the existing title entry I guess |

krvmga joined #evergreen |
14:26 |
krvmga |
this is really a question for eeevil ; reporter:label appears 3645 times in fm_IDL.xml in the vanilla install of eg. does this actually mean that there are 3645 data sources in the vanilla install of eg? |
14:27 |
eeevil |
krvmga: no |
14:27 |
krvmga |
thank god |
14:27 |
eeevil |
there are that many fields and tables |
14:27 |
eeevil |
reporter:label is used to give friendly names to lots of objects, not just <class> nodes |
14:28 |
eeevil |
bshum: yes, it should be |
14:28 |
eeevil |
(while I'm here ... ;) ) |
14:28 |
bshum |
eeevil: We've been musing about adding other 245 subfields like n (number) and p (part) to the fingerprinter to avoid strange metarecord bundling. |
14:28 |
* krvmga |
feels a strong sense of relief, as if a bullet was just dodged. |
14:29 |
bshum |
Too many cases where different materials are getting grouped together that wouldn't be if we took those extra parts of the title into account. |
14:29 |
krvmga |
eeevil: if i am looking for all the data sources in fm_IDL.xml, what search should i do? |
14:29 |
eeevil |
bshum: aye, and $b in some cases is important |
14:30 |
eeevil |
krvmga: just those exposed in the reporter? |
14:30 |
krvmga |
yes, just the ones that you'd use for reports. |
14:30 |
bshum |
eeevil: That too could be handy. I was just thinking about mirroring what we use now in results title display. Which so happens to be 'abnp' so yeah |
14:30 |
krvmga |
my intention is to try and document them. |
14:30 |
bshum |
Trying to think through potential consequences of tweaking it that way. |
14:31 |
Dyrcona |
krvmga: xpath -q -e '//class/@reporter:label' Src/Evergreen/Open-ILS/examples/fm_IDL.xml | wc -l |
14:31 |

That says 459 on master. |

krvmga |
thanks |
14:32 |
eeevil |
well, that'll get the nicely named ones, certainly :) |
14:32 |
krvmga |
eeevil: and the not-so-nicely named ones? |
14:33 |
bshum |
eeevil: Well the cataloger doesn't like "b" apparently, for situations like "blah blah: $ba novel." |
14:33 |
bshum |
But sigh |
14:33 |
bshum |
I hate MARC |
14:34 |
eeevil |
some lack reporter:label (or used to). in the long ago, we had open-ils.rstore in the controller list for report-able objects, but it looks like that's gone |
14:35 |
eeevil |
I'd just grab all <class> nodes and skip the ones that don't make sense to you ;) |
14:35 |
eeevil |
bshum: yeah, but then there are the animated series on VHS that encode the episode name in $b ... :( |
14:41 |
kmlussier |
That's why it would be nice to have a way to manually link metarecords together. Use the subfields that work for the most use cases, but have a way to manually adjust for those titles that don't fit. |

kmlussier: I agree entirely! |
15:03 |

eeevil: yep, ou_lassos for l-uris. Benefit being that you could avoid multiple 856s and crazy combinations of OU settings, I guess. |
15:05 |
eeevil |
dbs: I'm with ya ... not sure how we'd encode that in $9, though. thoughts? |
