10:43 eeevil Bmagic: what is the depth of the ADMIN_CAROUSEL permission for the working and non-working users? what are their working locations? if you want a user to be able to admin a system-level carousel they will need the permission assigned with a system depth, and a working location inside the owning system
10:44 eeevil and yes, it's perfectly fine to have buckets that do not have an owning lib field. most won't, because that's there primarily to support carousels, which are much newer than the generic containers

10:49 eeevil likewise, at the bucket level, the relevant permissions are: CREATE_BIB_BUCKET, ADMIN_BIB_BUCKET, and VIEW_CONTAINER. if the bucket is not pub=TRUE, (or the user isn't the owner of the bucket) then the user will need one of those at a working location scoped to the assigned depth at one of either the bucket owning_lib, or one of the share map share_org locations
10:51 eeevil so I suspect one of: permission depth (too shallow), lack of covered working locations, or a bug that prevents the carousel owner field from propagating to the bucket owning_lib.
10:51 eeevil (wait, too deep, not too shallow, but I think you follow)

11:04 eeevil Bmagic: I've updated your LP bug with some pointers on how we can use the new features to do what we want directly in the IDL, and a possible patch.

11:35 jeff while ARF/MARF is a format used in email feedback loops, there is no implementation I'm aware of called "OpenARF" ;-)
11:36 csharp_ jeff: then I guess this is as good a time as any to implement it!
13:04 Dyrcona Well. I guess I'm not looking at Ubuntu 16.04 snapshot 4 today. When I boot the installer iso with qemu/libvirt, I get tracebacks and a black screen.
13:05 Dyrcona Wonder if i boot it directly via the command line.
13:10 csharp_ Dyrcona: going retro are we?
13:10 csharp_ or did you mean 26.04?
13:11 csharp_ I like retro projects trying to get old releases running again - not super successful
13:30 Dyrcona Ha! I did mean 26.04. Didn't work with virt-manager. I'm gonna try again with qemu-img create and qemu directly, but I expect a similar result.
13:30 Dyrcona I thought I'd get started on 26.04 support.
13:41 Dyrcona It's actually booting farther than it got with virt-manager.
13:42 Dyrcona Now it seems hung up and the laptop fan is spinning.
13:44 Dyrcona Google search turns up no iss issues.
13:45 Dyrcona I gues I could try virt-install, but if booting directly with qemu doesn't work, then I don't think virt-install will work either.
13:50 Dyrcona Ooh. I got a blank terminal. That's something. wonder if it is busybox?
13:50 Dyrcona Eh, no. It's crashing again.
13:53 Dyrcona Maybe some Bluegrass music will help...
14:00 Dyrcona Well, the music's not helping qemu, but it's making me feel better. :)
14:01 Dyrcona "qemu should never be run as root..." Tell that to Ubuntu where it doesn't work otherwise.
14:04 Dyrcona It's the installer snap (subiquity) that's crashing.
14:08 Dyrcona Of course, I find nothing other than someone saying don't use 26.04 on reddit.
14:09 Dyrcona Ok. Guess I'm done with Ubuntu. Archi it is from now on.
14:09 Dyrcona :)
14:09 Dyrcona "That's a joke, son. I say, a joke."
14:11 Dyrcona If anyone gets the reference, I'll name my next vm after that character. I probably will anyway.
15:25 jeff I'm pretty sure I heard that line in Robert McKimson's voice.
15:25 jeff not sure if you were going for that or the original inspiration. :-)
15:27 jeff oh, and I was wrong about the voice, which would have been Mel Blanc. :-P
15:28 Dyrcona jeff: yeahp. McKimson was the director.

15:28 Dyrcona Ugh. Was looking at another window when I hit Ctrl-w.
15:31 csharp_ I remember learning that Foghorn Leghorn was in fact a parody of a parody: Senator Claghorn on the Fred Allen radio show
15:32 Dyrcona :)
15:32 csharp_ (my Spanish teacher mom parked me in the language lab when I was a kid and they had tapes of a bunch of old radio shows - it was very formative for me)
15:33 Dyrcona I listened to some of those that got recording on albums back in the day.
15:34 Dyrcona I think this conversation spilled over from another tab, too. :)
15:35 Dyrcona Oh, maybe not. I'm missing context. :)
15:35 csharp_ 14:09 < Dyrcona> "That's a joke, son. I say, a joke.
15:36 csharp_ a lot of those radio shows have made it into the Internet Archive audio trove - and there's a podcast called Breaking Walls that just broadcasts old shows as episodes
15:36 Dyrcona no, I remember that. I'm having one of those days where the brain doesn't want to focus.
15:36 csharp_ got it

18:15 jihpringle Looking at https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/2121686 I think it might have a milestone issue - if it was committed to main on March 11th am I correct that it's included in 3.17-beta?
18:15 pinesol Launchpad bug 2121686 in Evergreen 3.16 "New Holdings Editor: Clear buttons are broken on many fields, users can’t unset values once set and saved on an item" [High,Confirmed] - Assigned to Michele Morgan (mmorgan)
