Hmm.. Something's up with the Canonical apt servers. apt upgrade reports it will take 1 day and 3 hours 57 minutes to fetch an update. |
| 11:37 |
Dyrcona |
Arch has also been getting DOS'd lately. |
| 11:39 |
Dyrcona |
Incidents and backlog..... Guess I'll have to wait for updates. |

Hello, is there a setting that prevents books from being renewed in the self-check module until they are closer to the return date? Is it possible to block renewals until within X days of the return date? |
| 12:24 |
jihpringle |
Lorne: if you're tying to prevent double scans from resulting in renewals it sounds like giving the library setting "Checkout auto renew age" a value of 1 day helps - see the last comment here https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1765554 |

Anubis-- # just for the frustration |
| 13:00 |
Dyrcona |
meh. I can't find the anubis@.service file |
| 13:02 |
Dyrcona |
Ok. it's under /usr/lib, not /etc. |
| 13:08 |
Dyrcona |
Ugh. Now I'm getting a bad gateway still even though I saw it go through anubis. |
| 13:13 |
Dyrcona |
So, I gues the previous installation somehow used docker, and I can't find where that is, so I tried the deb and it almost works, but I've somehow botched the target configuration, though I'm not sure how. |
| 13:14 |
Dyrcona |
Now, I get this page isn't redirecting properly.... |
| 13:16 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah, this isn't working for me now. I've forgotten how to do it, and honestly, the Anubis help isn't helpful. |
| 13:32 |
Dyrcona |
It's always on a Friday, too. |
| 13:39 |
Dyrcona |
i point Anubis at the appropriate target, but I get to many redirects. I probably need to add something to the environment? |
| 13:43 |
Dyrcona |
I'm done. I give up. The bots can have it. The web is over. |
| 13:45 |
csharp_ |
Dyrcona: are you working on git.evergreen-ils.org or another server? |
| 13:50 |
csharp_ |
git appears to be working fine, so I'll assume the latter |
| 13:53 |
Dyrcona |
dev.cwmars.org |
| 13:53 |
csharp_ |
ah |
| 13:53 |
Dyrcona |
I had ti working somehow until I rebooted the machine this morning. Now I can't get it to work for the life of me. |
| 13:58 |
Dyrcona |
There's no special port configured in apache like there is on git.evergreen-ils.org, and using 7080 give me infinite redirect loops. |
| 13:59 |
Dyrcona |
Too many moving parts. |
| 14:07 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah, I set it up somehow on August 22, but I now have no idea how that was working because other than /var/www/anubis and the local git repo, there's no sign of Anubis form that date anywhere on the system. |
| 14:08 |
Dyrcona |
s/form/from/ |
| 14:15 |
csharp_ |
what does /etc/anubis/whatever.env designate as the port? |
| 14:17 |
csharp_ |
this is what I followed for Apache setup on git: |
| 14:17 |
csharp_ |
https://anubis.techaro.lol/docs/admin/environments/apache |
| 14:18 |
csharp_ |
and the anubis env config: https://anubis.techaro.lol/docs/admin/native-install |
| 14:19 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah. I can see that set up. Bit, I've nginx in front of apache. |
| 14:19 |
csharp_ |
ohhh |
| 14:19 |
csharp_ |
probably want to set it up with Nginx then? |
| 14:20 |
csharp_ |
(might even be easier) |
| 14:20 |
Dyrcona |
Well, that's the thing, It was set up with nginx but it stopped working when I rebooted because the Anubis magically disappeared. |
| 14:20 |
csharp_ |
https://anubis.techaro.lol/docs/admin/environments/nginx |
| 14:20 |
csharp_ |
ah |
| 14:20 |
csharp_ |
that's odd |
| 14:21 |

maybe something magical you set up to restore something to default as you boot up? |

| 14:23 |

ahhhh - yeah, docker would explain it |

Looking at the nginx config maybe I pass it back through nginx rather than to Apache... |
| 14:28 |

tries that. |
| 14:30 |
Dyrcona |
Nope. Too many redirects. |

I have a hunch that if I set up a special port in Apache that I'm still going to get the too many redirects error when I go the OPAC. |
| 15:01 |
Dyrcona |
I think I'll just leave it alone until I have to really get Anubis working because bots have come back. |

Hello! I am a graduate student who is doing a research report on ILS systems. I was wondering if I could get a demo of evergreen and talk to someone about the Vendor Technical Specifications?\ |
| 16:21 |
Dyrcona |
Guest75: What do you mean by "Vendor Technical Specifications?" Are you looking for documentation or do you want to know installation requirements or something else? |
| 16:24 |
Guest75 |
I believe it is documentation and installation requirements. |
| 16:26 |
Dyrcona |
Official documentation is here: https://docs.evergreen-ils.org/docs/latest/index.html |
| 16:27 |
Guest75 |
thank you! |
| 16:27 |
Dyrcona |
Installation requirements vary widely depending on the size of the installation. Evergreen will work for a small, special library all the way up to consortia with hundreds of member libraries. Basically, you'll need a 64-bit computer that cnan run ... |
| 16:27 |
Dyrcona |
Oh well. |
| 16:28 |
