has anyone had the expierence with trouble logging into the staff client after a fresh upgrade (3.14) - no registered workstation yet, it accepts my credentials and it reloads the login prompt again. Rinse and repeat. Logs show I got an auth token |
09:46 |
mmorgan |
Bmagic: Have you cleared cache? |
09:47 |
Bmagic |
logging into the OPAC does the same thing: accepts the login creds but I'm not actually logged in after the page reloads. I know the MFA stuff is in 3.14 |

When I merge two bibs, does the system purge the subordinate record or is it just marked as deleted? |
10:30 |
mmorgan |
stephengwills: It is marked as deleted in the database. |
10:32 |

has installed docker desktop and will now do nothing for the rest of the day (kidding...ish) |

Thought so. Is there documentation anywhere on how to purge those guys? I can’t find anything on purging bibs. |

(other than, don’t do it, somebody might want that someday.) |

I have a sql script that will do the trick, but I've never used it on production |
10:41 |

originally from Dyrcona, tweaked by me: https://github.com/mcoia/mobius_evergreen/blob/master/Random/real_bib_delete.sql |
10:41 |

it's dated, so, there might be newer links that it needs to know about |

Bmagic++. Drycona++. I see what I can do with it on a test db. I just moved us up to 3.14 so i’m sure it will want something new. thanks. |

so it turns out if you do "ldconfig" over and over again and it keeps not working and you *don't* have /openils/lib in the ld.so.conf.d config, it won't work! |

I'm stuck. I'm upgrading this server from 3.11.1->3.14.1. I made a pit stop at 3.13.3 just to make sure I could login to the staff client at 3.13.3 and I can. So I continued up to 3.14.1 and I'm getting the same login behavior where it accepts my creds, then asks for them again. |
13:52 |

logs: https://pastebin.com/4MMVu9Nb |
13:54 |
Bmagic |
I can* login to the opac with the same creds, and get to "My Account" things |
14:12 |
sandbergja |
Bmagic: to mmorgan's point, is it /eg2/en-US/staff or /eg/staff/ (or both) that gives you that behavior? |
14:13 |
Bmagic |
I get white screen on eg/staff and repeated login prompts over at eg2 |
14:13 |
sandbergja |
I can definitely recreate the white screen on eg/staff on a fresh install |
14:14 |

good thing nobody ever has to log into this software or anything |

14:14 |

the eg white screen seems potentially easy to fix. The console says "Cannot match any routes. URL Segment: 'staff/splashadmin/workstation/workstations'" |
14:15 |
sandbergja |
it is putting together a url and missing the / between splash and admin |
14:15 |
mmorgan |
Bmagic: If you reload on the white screen, do you get the Welcome to Webby page? |
14:15 |
Bmagic |
oh man, maybe it's expired |
14:18 |
Bmagic |
didn't fix it |
14:18 |
Bmagic |
Are the "ANONYMOUS" bits (from the log) normal? |
14:19 |
Bmagic |
I ran autogen.sh -u (the ou_type, parent=null) stuff got me thinking along the lines of autogen |
14:20 |
sandbergja |
going to the angular workstation admin page just caused an endless loop that crashed my browser... |
14:21 |
sandbergja |
The ANONYMOUS doesn't seem unusual to me fwiw |
14:22 |
sandbergja |
I'm curious Bmagic: in the repeated login prompt version, does your local storage get updated to have the new workstations when you register them (in dev tools Storage tab in firefox, dev tools Application tab in chromium-based browsers)? |
14:23 |
sandbergja |
It would be the eg.workstation.all and/or eg.workstation.default row |
14:24 |
sandbergja |
oh, also... is Hatch in effect? |
14:26 |
Bmagic |
no hatch, I'll check the storage |
14:26 |
mmorgan |
FWIW, we've had issues with white screens related to hatch. Good thought sandbergja! |
14:28 |
Bmagic |
imma try a different account for kicks |
14:28 |
mmorgan |
Hatch issues include workstation setting eg.hatch.enable.printing set to true, but no hatch available. |
14:33 |
Bmagic |
different user didn't make a difference |
14:38 |
Bmagic |
storage shows: ["eg.auth.token","eg.auth.time"] |
14:38 |
Bmagic |
0: "eg.auth.token" |
14:38 |
Bmagic |
1: "eg.auth.time" |
14:40 |
Bmagic |
comparing that to a working system, it's the same, although, there's no workstation |
14:40 |
Bmagic |
(because I haven't been allowed to register a workstation yet) |

I'm getting some kind of "stability canary" prompt when installing 3.14 on Ubuntu 22.04, looks like Authen::WebAuthn depends on CBOR::XS which depends on Canary::Stability which produces the warning. |

At a glance it looks like a Perl dev's way of griping about Perl 5 maintainer decisions. |
