hello :) |
12:58 |
Bmagic |
dickreckard: hey there! How's the day treating ya? |
13:00 |
dickreckard |
alright.. temps getting warmer and some sun today.. now finishing the day working from home with some evergreen misteries still to solve.. :P |
13:00 |
dickreckard |
how about you? |

I got my tomatoes in the ground this weekend! I figured it's practically May! Maybe we can help with your Evergreen mysteries! I love a good mystery! |
13:01 |
dickreckard |
yeah! late spring this year |
13:02 |
dickreckard |
I am trying to found out why the keyword search field does not work. all other fields work both in autocomplete as in normal search but the keyword not at all. this is a test system with a database that has been updated from version to 3.2.2 to 3.12.1.. but he update scripts on the db seemed to work correctly |
13:03 |
Bmagic |
how many rows do you have in metabib.keyword_field_entry? select count(*) from metabib.keyword_field_entry |
13:05 |
dickreckard |
57910 |
13:13 |
Bmagic |
seems like you should get results... maybe reingest? |
13:13 |
dickreckard |
did try already :S |
13:13 |
Bmagic |
what method did you use to reingest? |

dickreckard |
even creating a new record and adding holdings, they are not found. |
13:15 |
Bmagic |
did you notice this feature as part of 3.11? https://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/release/RELEASE_NOTES_3_11.html#_queued_ingest |
13:15 |
dickreckard |
i mean they are found by author and title |
13:15 |
dickreckard |
yes i used the queued reingest |
13:16 |
Bmagic |
Did you enable the global flag first? |
13:17 |
Bmagic |
I had an expierence where the queued ingest didn't do the trick and I went back to the old standby: pingest.pl to reingest the bibs. |
13:19 |
dickreckard |
uhm i think i did not enable the global flag |
13:19 |
Bmagic |
you could break the problem down to a single bib. Reingest a single bib, then search for it via keyword (using a word that is in the bib somewhere) |
13:19 |
dickreckard |
reingsting via pingest? |
13:21 |
Bmagic |
this command should reingest a bib: SELECT metabib.reingest_metabib_field_entries(bib_id, false, false, false, false) |
13:21 |
Bmagic |
replace bib_id with the ID of the bib you're targeting |
13:23 |
Bmagic |
using pingest: pingest.pl --start-id <bib_id> --end-id <bib_id+1> |
13:25 |
dickreckard |
hmm still not found via keyword |
13:25 |
Bmagic |
using ingest_ctl: ingest_ctl --queue-threads 1 --queue-type biblio --start-id <bib_id> --end-id <bib_id+1> |
13:26 |
dickreckard |
damn i need to run.. will continue looking into this later. thanks for you help Bmagic ! :) |
13:26 |
Bmagic |
try truncating metabib.keyword_field_entry first: TRUNCATE metabib.keyword_field_entry; then pingest.pl the single bib. And confirm that there are some rows in metabib.keyword_field_entry after the reingest. |
13:27 |
Bmagic |
dickreckard: good luck! |
13:27 |
dickreckard |
thanks! |

berick: working on RHEL 9 support again... looks like we might want to wait until we can replace memcached with redis - libmemcached is not packaged anywhere trustworthy in the RHEL/EPEL/Rocky universe :-/ |
16:59 |
csharp_ |
so at this point, I'm having to build libmemcached from source |
16:59 |
berick |
csharp_: that's.. odd, no? |
17:00 |
csharp_ |
yes |
17:00 |
csharp_ |
similar pain surrounds ejabberd |
17:00 |
csharp_ |
also can't help but notice that libmemcached is, well, old as hell: https://launchpad.net/libmemcached/+download |

there could be a connection between the 10+ years since a release and RHEL/EPEL not containing a package |
17:02 |
berick |
guess so |
17:06 |
csharp_ |
I'm also surprised that they appear to be separate projects (libmemcached/memcached) |
17:07 |
csharp_ |
which brings me back to my refrain: IT'S A WONDER ANY OF THIS WORKS AT ALL |
17:09 |
berick |
