Huh.... "U Bal" from Symphonie Fantastique (2nd movement?), Ride of the Valkyries, then 2 Breton folks songs by Tri Yann... Think my phone is on a classical/folk kick. |

It's there. I configured and ran ldconfig. And, all I wanted to do was update eg_db_config to the version from main on a vm with 3.10.3 installed, and OpenSRF is set up to use Redis if that matters. |

Dyrcona: 3a9279694aff88c4b7909fec00b50faea92212cd typed Google into Google; broke the Internet. |
10:02 |
Dyrcona |
So, if you encounter that configure error, it means you need to upgrade OpenSRF. |

fires up a local vm to run pgtap tests on Pg 16. |
10:04 |
Dyrcona |
BTW, You can check the lib version with autotools. Not that we've been versioning libraries "correctly" either. |
10:07 |
Dyrcona |
Did I mention before that I find Github's new 2FA requirements to be annoying? Well, if I didn't, I do, and if I did, I still do. |
10:14 |
Dyrcona |
Hmm... Make a Pg 16 branch now, or test Pg 16 first? |
10:16 |
Dyrcona |
Upgrade an existing VM or wipe it out and start over? |

sorry everyone, was I spamming the channel with leave/join messages? |
10:30 |
Dyrcona |
Yes, but it doesn't matter. I'm spamming the channel with my passing thoughts as I hack up a branch for PostgreSQL 16. |
10:31 |
briank |
hah. well I'm trying to get a new system set up and clearly my irc client doesn't handle certain situations |
10:31 |

No need to apologize. That's part of IRC, people coming and going... and me rambling. :) |

haha. it looks like this client doesn't deal with the system going to sleep. it's been doing this several times a minute all night :/ |
10:36 |
Dyrcona |
My client doesn't handle sleep either. I have to manually sign out. So, I just configured the laptop to never go to sleep. :) |

Also, I tried making a symlink using my editor, and it decided to link the full path of the target file, which would be fine if it was not in a git repository. |
10:43 |
Dyrcona |
OK. There's a different command for relative symlinks. |
10:44 |
Dyrcona |
After making the symlink to 000.english.pg94.fts-config.sql is there enything else that needs to be modified? |
10:45 |
Dyrcona |
I think we fixed that when we dropped support 9.x versions... |
10:46 |
Dyrcona |
I'll try it and see what happens. |
10:48 |
Dyrcona |
Just another public note/comment: Looking at this we should try to install the PostgreSQL client that matches what's on the server, but I think we'd have to make the user specify that. |
10:52 |
Dyrcona |
For anyone else who wants to give it a go, I just pushed a WIP branch to https://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=working/Evergreen.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/user/dyrcona/add-pg16-support |

Stompro: So far, any time I've tried to edit something about a repo, I've been bothered to use the GitHub app on the phone. |
11:08 |
Stompro |
Ah, so they are doing a push notification type 2fa? Like Google Prompt. I didn't have the app installed so I don't think they offered that. |
11:10 |

Passkeys + a password manager like bitwarden makes the login simple. Passkeys are considered multi factor so nothing extra is required when using them. |

14:30 |

So, the README suggestion for the /etc/hosts file is wrong for Redis. You should put private.localhost and public.localhost on the same line as localhoast, and leve out the IP addresses. |
