I've found a few more instances of master that probably need to be changed. |

I wonder if we should change master to main when talking about database servers and OpenSRF processes in the documentation? |
09:33 |
gmcharlt |
Dyrcona: I like primary/secondary or primary/replica for databases |
09:35 |
JBoyer |
quick +1 for primary / replica because replica doesn't imply how many replicas there may be. |
09:36 |
Dyrcona |
That's fine with me. I won't make any changes to that documentation today. I'm looking for things that reference branches. |
09:36 |
gmcharlt |
sounds good |
09:37 |

I've found 3 so far, been messing with grep -exclude options to eliminate some obvious things I can skip. |
09:37 |
Dyrcona |
Should I update the XUL Makefiles? There are a couple of things that look for master in there. |
09:42 |
Dyrcona |
I'm putting ./Open-ILS/xul/staff_client/Makefile.am on my list of files to check/fix. |
09:42 |

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. But maybe. |

Parts of it do not work after notes were moved. Can't remember if that was for patrons, copies, or both. |
09:48 |
Dyrcona |
Can we just delete it already? |
09:49 |
Dyrcona |
I've got six files to look at and 3 of them definitely needed updated. |

git rm Open-ILS/xul is about all it takes :) |
10:03 |
gmcharlt |
not quite that easy, alas, but certainly the build stuff and most of the XUL chrome could be immediatley removed |
10:04 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah, I'll look for some of the related bugs. There's a bug to remove it and at least one other about removing the org unit settings not used by the web staff client. |
10:04 |
gmcharlt |
and my recent one that inspired me to create the xul-removal LP tag |
10:05 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah. |
10:05 |
Dyrcona |
Maybe we'll remove it for 3.12/4.0 whatever the next release is called. |
10:06 |
Dyrcona |
if OpenSRF gets Redis by the next release, I'd be inclined to go with 4.0 for both Evergreen and OpenSRF. We did the same with 3.0. |

If I have plenty of notice on that, I can make sure to arrange some UI projects to give it a visibly new and improved look. |

So much talk about being on a "dependency treadmill" in the OpenSRF/Redis email thread. It feels like a treadmill with Angular, AngularJS, and Node. In fact, that's what modern web development feels like. Though I'd be more inclined to call it Sisyphean rather than a treadmill. |

Angular question. I have a select dropdown of item barcodes bound in ng-model to a default barcode in JSON in my script. e.g. foo.copy.id |
15:53 |
abowling |
When I look at the element in inspector, the value reads value=" ? number:1092 ?" |
15:54 |
abowling |
When I attempt to make it foo.copy.id.toString(), it works, but then the console complains of an error, that it can't process .toString() |

Any ideas? |
