12:12 berick curious if fines-free libs run the standalone fine-generator.  seems like all it would do is set stop_fines = MAXFINES.

12:20 rfrasur berick, it is my understanding that we do fines free in just that manner.
12:22 berick rfrasur: meaning you don't run the standalone fine generator?
12:22 rfrasur correct.  We do have some SQL that cleans out old bills too.  If you're interested.
12:23 berick gotcha, thanks rfrasur.
12:24 berick we have our pile o' SQL all lined up, but appreciate it
12:24 rfrasur ++
12:25 rfrasur I've no doubt ;-).  Ours probably came from you at some point.
12:26 mmorgan berick: Most but not all of our libraries are fine free, we run the fine-generator.
12:26 terranm We are currently doing partial fines-free based on circ mod so nothing changed about the standard fines generator process.
12:27 * berick nods
12:30 collum Yep.  What terranm said.  We have one circ mod that still accrues fines. - Tools
12:31 * mmorgan just ran a quick query and doesn't see any recent transactions with recurring_fine = 0 and stop_fines = MAXFINES. Hmm.
12:32 rfrasur Oh, yes.  I guess I should say that we do still run the fine-generator for our libraries that are fine free.
12:33 berick oh, hm, setting stop_fines may not happen if there are no billings to apply
12:34 berick rfrasur: do you know if that is because it's a mix of fines-free or because you needed to keep running the generator for some reason?
12:35 rfrasur My belief it's because we still have libraries that are generating fines.
12:35 berick k
12:36 rfrasur The notes in our wiki state that "Rebuilding the circ matrix doesn't have any effect on existing circulations. The simplest way to prevent them from accruing any new fines is to set all circs from that system with an empty stop_fines to MAXFINES."
12:37 rfrasur There's more than that in terms of "what to do."
15:07 mantis1 Got a question about inactive barcodes
15:07 mantis1 Basically a couple have barcodes they needed registered into our system because they are from a non-Evergreen library
15:08 mantis1 problem was both of those barcodes got saved to one of their accounts.  I was able to mark the original barcode of the user active and primary and marked her husband's card inactive
15:08 mantis1 Is there a way to get the inactive barcode off the associated account so we can properly register this patron?
15:09 Dyrcona mantis1: Delete it in the database.
15:10 mantis1 Does the barcode need to be active to find it in the database first?
15:10 mmorgan mantis1: What Dyrcona said, from the actor.card table.
15:10 mantis1 oh ok
15:10 mantis1 I was in the wrong table then
15:10 mantis1 mmorgan++
15:10 mantis1 Dyrcona++
15:11 Dyrcona mmorgan++
15:11 mmorgan Dyrcona++
15:11 Dyrcona Better patron barcode management is a longstanding client wish list item.
