I made an update to the wiki that, on its surface, seems minor but should probably be reviewed by somebody who is active in the community to make sure I'm using the correct name for who owns the trademark https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=contributing:contributors&do=diff&rev2%5B0%5D=1667003300&rev2%5B1%5D=1667064379&difftype=sidebyside |

On a somewhat related note, was is the Evergreen Projects referred to as TEP? What is the T for? |
13:33 |
jeff |
kmlussier: hello, and happy Saturday! |
13:33 |
jeff |
"The Evergreen Project (TEP) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in June of 2018." |
13:33 |
kmlussier |
jeff: Happy Saturday! Hope all is well! |

Oh, so the "T" is for The. Now I feel dumb. And I should probably capitalize it in the edit I just made. |

jeff++ Thanks! |
13:40 |
jeff |
And I'm still amused by: |
13:41 |
jeff |
Description of Mark: The mark consists of a drawing of a pine tree branch between the words "EVER" and "GREEN". |
13:41 |
jeff |
Design Search Code(s): 05.13.25 - Straw in bales; Bales of hay or straw; Hay in bales; Other plants including bales of hay or straw |
13:44 |
jeff |
especially when "05.01.01 Evergreens and other trees or bushes of triangular or conical shape " is Right There. |
13:45 |
jeff |
though since it's not the whole tree, "05.03.09 Needles, branches with needles " is probably more appropriate. |
13:46 |
jeff |
(I think you can add multiple codes, but I'm not sure if you can "build" like in DDC) |
13:46 |
kmlussier |
It took me way too long to even find that. |
13:47 |
* kmlussier |
obviously isn't used to looking at trademark databases. |
13:50 |
kmlussier |
But now I'm left wondering: I thought we once brought a designer in to replace the logo, but that's the same logo we always had. What am I misremembering? |
13:50 |
kmlussier |
Apologies for the use of the word "we" there, but it's a habit I haven't been able to break. |
14:16 |
jeff |
Are you thinking of the "round" logo? https://evergreen-ils.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Evergreen-Final-Logoxhdpi.png |
14:16 |
jeff |
or something from the Craftsman skin days, or something else? |
14:18 |
jeff |
(like one of the conference logos?) |
14:18 |
kmlussier |
Craftsman mostly predates me. Yes, it must be the round logo I'm thinking of. |
14:19 |
jeff |
and yes, I found mention of updating the logo being something undertaken in roughly 2017, looking first into working with one of the conference logo designers. :-) |
14:20 |
kmlussier |
Sounds about right! :) |
14:22 |

> Evergreen logo (Kathy) - approved for use by EOB, updated on Facebook, Twitter, and GooglePlus. Need to contact Conservancy about adding to Trademark. |
14:23 |
kmlussier |
jeff, am I making you go through old EOB minutes on what should be a relaxing Saturday afternoon? |
14:24 |
kmlussier |
heh, GooglePlus |
14:26 |
jeff |
heh |
14:27 |
jeff |
lots of link rot in some of those minutes (logo feedback survey Google Form, Dropbox link to a draft of the annual report, a few Minutes for outreach wanting me to sign in to Google, a deleted Google Sheet linked in the minutes next to the EOB approving the round logo...) |
14:28 |
jeff |
(ah, sheet was a funding request for outreach) |
14:29 |
kmlussier |
Yeah. I wonder if any of those defunct Google docs are mine. But I still have my old outreach stuff. I also see that in Launchpad when I used to link to MassLNC ideas when submitting enhancement requests. |
14:29 |
* jeff |
nods |
14:30 |
kmlussier |
No, I liked. I deleted the outreach stuff. It's the annual report files I kept. |
14:30 |
jeff |
a while back I remember scraping and making copies of a bunch of ideas pages (there were at least two sites/projects with those, I think?) and... oh, some of the old conference sites. |
14:31 |
jeff |
also, going digging for old blog post images around the time of the first wordpress site... with mixed success. |
14:32 |
jeff |
2008 was still the era of "pose for photos next to server racks", and I think at least one that I remember we never found. |
14:33 |
kmlussier |
I had a full backup of the MassLNC site on a flash drive that ultimately died and it may still be on a hard drive somewhere in my house. But I don't know how useful it would be. Drupal 6. |
14:35 |
kmlussier |
I guess it speaks to the importance of putting all that stuff in places owned by the project and not by individual members. |
14:36 |
kmlussier |
The Internet Archive is great, but there are a lot of masslnc pages that never got captured. |
