09:00 terranm Good morning Feedback Festers, the list of test servers that are up and running is at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r0RyFB_Sj1RHdVacylCNBt-YS3S7VlXguWYWMqk40so/edit#gid=0
09:01 terranm The 3.10 Release Team would like to encourage developers to take a look at the LP tickets with the bootstrapblocker and staffcatalog blocker tags so that we can get closer to deprecating the old OPAC and embedded staff catalog.

11:37 stephengwills is  metabib.browse_entry_def_map supposed to be [1 to 1] or  [many to one] with metabib.browse_entry? I’m trying to debug why Vandelay is crashing against a unique constraint on a title and getting myself all confused
11:46 berick stephengwills: you can have multiple metabib.browse_entry_def_map and multiple metabib.browse_entry_simple_heading_map rows pointing to metabib.browse_entry
11:48 stephengwills thanks, that is what I thought.  metabib.reingest_metabib_field_entries is crashing on me trying to insert into metabib.browse_entry even though the title already exists. :(
11:48 stephengwills instead of just making a new map
11:49 stephengwills thanks, I’ll start raising notices instead of raising cain. ;)
12:01 stephengwills also, will public.oils_tsearch2('keyword') take a really long time on a database server that is under provisioned?

12:37 Dyrcona metabib.browse_entry does have unique constraints. I've only ever seen them triggered when updating multiple bibs at once that his the same browse entry/authority.
12:38 Dyrcona s/his/hits/
12:53 stephengwills I was getting a unique key error which is what started me down this path.  now I am getting an “invalid XPath expression” no matter what I try and ingest.  one of our schools is trying to do frequent small batches from Follet and not getting anywhere.
12:58 Dyrcona stephengwills: I'd check for custom config.metabib_field table entries with XPATH changes from stock. Maybe something there is broken?
12:58 csharp_ stephengwills: maybe bad xpath in config.metabib_field (or other xpath-using tables?)
12:58 csharp_ heh
12:58 Dyrcona Jinx!
12:58 * Dyrcona is that old....
12:58 stephengwills 123456789 STOP!
12:59 csharp_ stephengwills: depending on the perms setup, those xpath fields are available via the GUI, so someone may have had a "what's this do?" moment without realizing they would be ruining everyone's day :-/
13:00 stephengwills that is what I am wondering.  we have a whole pantheon of curious gods up here.
13:01 csharp_ yes
13:01 csharp_ to track that sort of thing you can add that to the audit tables with the auditor.create_auditor function
13:02 stephengwills i don’t suppose the metabib_field table has a last_edited field?
13:02 csharp_ @blame end users
13:02 pinesol csharp_: end users WILL PERISH UNDER MAXIMUM DELETION! DELETE. DELETE. DELETE!
13:02 stephengwills oh, answered then asked
13:03 csharp_ stephengwills: unfortunately this kind of thing spurs you to add that kind of tracking, then it never happens again
13:03 stephengwills I think I’m giving them all a pack of index cards for christmas and telling them we are starting from scratch.
13:03 csharp_ @quote add  stephengwills> I think I’m giving them all a pack of index cards for christmas and telling them we are starting from scratch.
13:03 pinesol csharp_: The operation succeeded.  Quote #230 added.
13:04 stephengwills csharp++ def the legacy i was dreaming of

13:12 Dyrcona :)
13:15 * Dyrcona ponders writing a function (that he'll only need for about two weeks) or just waiting and changing a global variable's value in a week or so.
13:18 Dyrcona @decide function or wait
13:18 pinesol Dyrcona: go with function
13:18 Dyrcona pinesol: Somehow, I knew that you'd disagree with me.
13:19 pinesol Dyrcona: where the hell did my db03 go?
13:20 Dyrcona bshum++
13:21 Dyrcona I am going to try something that would go into the function, just to make sure I'm thinking about it correctly.
13:23 Dyrcona I suppose that would work....
13:24 csharp_ pinesol++
13:24 csharp_ @eightball isn't everyone wondering where the hell their db03 went?
13:24 pinesol csharp_: Maybe...
13:25 * Dyrcona is wondering why he never had one in the first place...
13:44 csharp_ @blame band for [someone] not getting their db03
13:44 pinesol band caused the white screen of death! for scottangel not getting their db03
13:44 csharp_ @blame [band] for [someone] not getting their db03
13:44 pinesol The Click Fix stole bradl's tux doll! for troy not getting their db03
