06:44 Dyrcona Correction for what I said last night: I didn't have to install Template::Plugin::POSIX for the timezone to work with date.format. I had to install Template::Plugin::POSIX for the Evergreen OPAC to work. Without it, I get internal server errors.
06:45 Dyrcona So, maybe we should install Template::Toolkit via CPAN?
06:50 Dyrcona Hee hee: "Because somehow in 2022 cross-compiling Windows native binaries from Linux is easier than building on Windows natively."
06:50 * Dyrcona hasn't done that in a decade or so, but it worked last time I tried with Qt.

08:48 Dyrcona Grr... pcrud, cstore, and reporter-store are not connected, but the configuration looks OK to me.
08:49 Dyrcona And, now, after a restart they're connecting... Wonder why they didn't connect the first time?
08:55 rfrasur Bmagic, whenever you're around, tell me more about this alternate B&T server...if theres anything to tell.
08:58 JBoyer Re: that gist above, I'll bet Windows dev is pretty miserable if you're trying your hardest to treat it like Linux dev. Also vice-versa.
09:06 Dyrcona Yeah.
09:11 * Dyrcona wonders if I can use Perl threads to write data from DBI calls to multiple files.... I suppose it would be simpler without threads.

09:36 Dyrcona Hey. That worked out rather well. Got the data split up even among five files.
10:52 Bmagic rfrasur: nothing really to tell. It's a completely different server with a different DNS name and IP address. I believe it was just for us (for now).
10:53 rfrasur Just for Mobius?
10:54 Bmagic for now
10:54 berick same here.  i asked and they said the server would not work for others, that it's tied to the buyer/library SAN
10:56 Bmagic B&T has to make it available to you (they need to hook up your account and EDI files to it), it's not something we can just share among ourselves. And who konws, maybe they are going to take the changes to their main server eventually.
10:56 rfrasur Oh good lord.
10:57 rfrasur I mean.  Thank you.  My frustration has nothing to do with anyone in this room.
10:57 berick your message is clear
10:57 rfrasur ++
10:59 jeff EDI over SMTP, anyone? :-)
11:00 jeff (kidding, but only somewhat!)
11:00 rfrasur lol
11:03 * rfrasur calls B&T...again
11:04 Dyrcona jeff: Invoking Zawinski's law? :)
11:05 Dyrcona Is B&T also the vendor that has two implementations or EDI, one that has a limit on PO name size and the other that doesn't?
11:05 rfrasur Hmm, I hadn't heard of that from B&T.
11:06 rfrasur That means nothing though.
11:09 * Dyrcona has a puzzling issue with Text::CSV on Ubuntu 18.04.
11:20 Dyrcona The Text::CSV constructor, new, seems to be returning 1.
11:20 Dyrcona Can't locate object method "getline" via package "1" (perhaps you forgot to load "1"?) at ./notify.pl line 14.
11:22 Dyrcona But, my use of it is no different from the other files where I created a CSV...

11:29 Dyrcona Ok, figured it out. The open line is wrong.
11:59 jeff oh hey, bug 1901726 still needs to be fixed. I suspect we did what may others did and wroked around it locally then forgot about it.

11:59 jeff (a bad habit)
12:08 stompro__ jeff++ , belated thanks for finding that existing net::ftp bug report about the pasv fix.
15:07 Bmagic rfrasur: just read the EDI string to them on the phone. It's more secure than FTP anyway
15:18 miker Bmagic: a more secure channel, yes, but since it's basically a raw serial link you need some sort of ECC. implementing XMODEM-in-human-speech is going to be a pain. ;)
15:19 Bmagic miker++ # As we know all too well. "Is that MO or Missouri spelled out?"
15:21 Dyrcona miker++
15:21 * Dyrcona suddenly feels nostalgia for the '90s and c-kermit.
15:26 Dyrcona +++ATH0
15:26 Bmagic "Verbal FTP" VFTP for short. And with ECC: VFTP-ECC
15:26 miker thanks, I hate it
15:26 Dyrcona Heh...
