Hi all - we had a library asking about making a collection unavailable for transit holds during a scheduled time frame, without having to change circ mods or rules when the "season" is over. Like making Christmas titles only holdable at the branch level from December 1st to December 25th. It doesn't seem like there is a way to do this, but wondering if anyone out there has something? |

jvwoolf: I don't know of any way to do this without changing a hold rule. We use hold rules based on circ modifiers with transit range = system for that purpose. You could have the rule always set up and make it Active only for Dec. 1 - Dec. 25. |

mmorgan: Thanks. Since our ibraries don't have the ability to change their own hold policies, I think I will suggest a bucket and either switching to a circ mod that only allows holds at the branch level or using an age hold protection rule of 999 years or something like that. |

I may also put a wish list item into Launchpad |

That would be a nice feature. I've heard of the 999 year age hold protection, though it's not something we've used. |
