09:54 dbriem if a committed fix hasn't released yet, but could introduce a new bug, better to comment on existing bug or report a new one?
09:55 Dyrcona dbriem: That's a tough call, though I would favor opening a new bug.

10:10 sandbergja Checking on some credit card functionality: when I turn on credit card payments in test mode, the patron's account still seems to be credited, even though the payment is a fake one just for testing
10:10 sandbergja Does that match what others see?
10:11 Dyrcona sandbergja: Yes, I think that is correct.
10:11 sandbergja Dyrcona++
10:11 sandbergja Thanks!
10:11 sandbergja Is that the expected behavior (in which case I think it merits a note in the docs)?
10:12 sandbergja (I went into it with the mindset of "I'm in test mode, so it will just be test/fake transactions all the way down")
10:12 Dyrcona Yes, I expect it to work that way, at least. Test CC credentials should be used on test systems.
10:13 sandbergja Dyrcona: thanks -- I will add a note to the docs
10:13 Dyrcona Your vendor usually also supplies test CC numbers, too.
10:14 Dyrcona gmcharlt: Regarding the mail to the general list about moving the IRC channel, did you mean to have discussion on the list in replies to your email?
10:15 gmcharlt Dyrcona: yeah, as a possibility; I suspect that the discussion is inherently going to be split between email and IRC regardless, but I wanted to give infrequent users of IRC a heads-up
10:16 Dyrcona gmcharlt: Thanks that's more or less what I suspected.
10:17 Dyrcona I said in the conference chat yesterday that I preferred moving to OFTC, but after looking at what other channels I sometimes haunt on Freenode are doing, I'm OK with moving to Libera.
10:18 gmcharlt FWIW, I lean a bit more OFTC because of its existing web client, but that's only a minor preference
10:19 gmcharlt though if we go with Libera, I think we should consider either running a web client of our own or clearly documenting steps for a preferred free web client
10:19 Dyrcona Right, that makes a lot of sense.
10:19 Dyrcona OFTC still works for me. I'm more neutral. Most of the Freenode channels that I visit are moving to Libera, but I have OFTC open, usually, to spy on #koha. :)
10:21 JBoyer there's a web.libera.chat that I noticed on their site today, so that's either come up very recently or they need to do a better job of advertising it.
10:22 JBoyer I lean a little more their way since they have experience running at large scale and I noticed by happenstance just yesterday that postgresql, ansible, and znc have all gone that route.
10:23 Dyrcona JBoyer++
10:23 Dyrcona Yeah, I spend a good bit of time in #postgresql. Also, #emacs has moved to Libera.
10:24 gmcharlt JBoyer: huh. looks like they literally put it in place this morning or yesterday
10:25 tlittle For all our talk of "no stupid questions" yesterday, I have one. There's also a postgres Slack channel--are they just mirroring that somehow, or is that two completely separate things that people are joining?
10:25 gmcharlt well, in that case I'm now neutral
10:25 JBoyer I suppose I'm not too surprised that they haven't entirely rebuilt everything that fn has yet. :)
10:26 Dyrcona I'm considering running a node depending on requirements.....
10:26 Dyrcona But, not too seriously, mind you. I probably don't have the bandwidth at the moment.
10:27 Dyrcona tlittle: I have no idea about the postgresql Slack.
10:27 JBoyer tlittle, they can be connected, but I don't think that postgresql is doing that.
10:27 gmcharlt tlittle: my impression is that the IRC channel is the primary one and that the Slack is just something that a community member put up as an alternative forum
10:27 JBoyer code4lib is though, there are matrix, slack, and freenode bridges so you can in theory use whatever you like and still talk to everyone.
10:28 tlittle Ah okay, interesting. Thanks! I looked for awhile to see if I could watch our channel here via Slack, because its interface is nice, but couldn't figure it out. So I just wondered
10:28 gmcharlt Pg's page about their IRC channel discusses their code of conduct, while their website's mention of Slack is just a bare link
10:35 Dyrcona Yeah, pretty much every other project channel that I visit has moved to Libera.
10:35 Dyrcona So, I'm neutral.

12:38 Dyrcona Oh, damn. I replied to the wrong email in the folder.
12:39 Dyrcona I just sent an email to the general list about moving IRC networks in replay to terranm's email about Evergreen PC Reservation Validation. There are going to be some confused peeps out there.
12:45 jeffdavis "Sorry, PC Res uses a *completely different* archaic protocol for authentication."
12:45 Keith-isl Semaphore? :)

12:46 Dyrcona I prefer SASL.
12:51 jeffdavis I'm enjoying the idea of patron auth via semaphore.

12:58 rfrasur jeffdavis, semaphore patron auth gave great joy to the Evergreen Indiana / ISL office.
12:58 jeffdavis :)
