csharp: Thanks for the answer to my question yesterday. I'm upgrading the rest of our production environment to Ubuntu 18.04 on Monday. We're staying on PostgreSQL 9.6, though. |

I've mentioned this before (http://irc.evergreen-ils.org/evergreen/2020-05-01#i_444035), but it takes considerably longer to update an authority record in Pg 9.6 than it does in Pg 12. I just did another comparison because our cataloger reported another authority record that times out when she tries to update it via the client. It has 216 linked bibs. |

I prepared a SQL update and compared it on Pg 12 (c. 9 seconds) and Pg 9.6 (c. 10 minutes) on the same hardware. |

That reminds me that I should document the things that get slower on Pg 12, like updating bib records with located URIs. |

Was I imagining that there's a script to link auths and bibs? |
13:57 |
Dyrcona |
Ah, I think it is authority_control_fields.pl. I don't why I expected it to have "bib" in the name. |
13:57 |
JBoyer |
Or "link" :) Though I think there's an authority_authority_linker.pl or something similar. |

authority_authority_linker.pl links headings in authority records as the names suggests. It looks like authority_control_fields.pl takes a bib record id, which is not quite what I want. I'd like to specify the authority and have a script find the bibs that should be linked, but are not. I could write one, I suppose. |
14:05 |
JBoyer |
Yeah, I wasn't suggesting using that script, just that some are more descriptively named than others. And yeah, a script that would track down bibs to update based on auth record sounds handy. |
14:09 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah, it would be, but I'm probably not going to write it, at least not today. |

Bleh... Tryin' to backport curbside to 3.5.2.... |

Guess I'll try pulling commits from the pr branch rather than master. Might get fewer conflicts that way. |
16:51 |
Dyrcona |
Oh well. Guess I'll have to sort it out tomorrow. |
