08:42 Dyrcona Well, this morning is only marginally better than yesterday. I apparently forgot to reinstall the crontab on the main utility server yesterday afternoon, so I get to run the overnight jobs by hand this morning.
08:44 Dyrcona Axiom #1: Never update Evergreen, just be happy where you are.
08:45 Dyrcona Axiom #2: Never take vacation, you'll return with too much work to do.
08:46 Dyrcona Corrollary #2.1: Never schedule an upgrade for the Sunday night after you end a vacation.

09:35 dbwells JBoyer: Such translation ambitions.  Who knew you spoke so many languages ;)
09:39 JBoyer Let's just say I speak the same percentage as most of them have been translated. :D
09:39 Dyrcona :)

09:40 JBoyer That was a fun day.
09:45 Dyrcona I am happy for action trigger delays. I started a runner to do the pending daily-6pm granularity that was missed yesterday after new events were created today, but before the delay would have picked them up. I dodged a bullet on that one.
09:48 Dyrcona I did check beforehand and could have temporarily updated the delay if necessary, but it wasn't necessary.

09:58 Dyrcona I guess it is safe to stop babysitting the last running process from last night and do something else.

10:23 Dyrcona Whee! Way to inflate the number of events being processed: accidentally include those from yesterday in your count.

10:36 Dyrcona Fun with typos: Updgrade... Sounds 'bout right. :P
10:36 Dyrcona Though, ugprade is more common.

13:26 Dyrcona So, in the 3.6.0 upgrade, how does one decide which workstation setting entries to delete? The ones with the lower id numbers?
13:27 JBoyer I think that's the way I usually go.
13:28 Dyrcona Ok, I'll give that a shot.
13:28 Dyrcona @blame wokstation_setting for breaking the join.
13:28 pinesol Dyrcona: wokstation_setting stole Dyrcona's ice cream! for breaking the join.
13:30 Dyrcona work_station_setting doesn't work, either... :P
13:32 Dyrcona JBoyer++ # Works for me!
13:50 Dyrcona @decide sed or lisp
13:50 pinesol Dyrcona: go with lisp
13:58 Dyrcona No, this is easier sed than lisp'd.

14:58 jeffdavis On 3.5.1 / Ubuntu 18.04 I am seeing client pages fail to load with "Service open-ils.actor unavailable" errors in the console, even though the service is up and running. open-ils.actor drone counts are high on some servers but not maxed out.
15:07 Bmagic jeffdavis: strange, we've have some 18.04 running. Not seeing that issue
15:07 csharp jeffdavis: always failing? or sometimes failing?
15:08 jeffdavis It's intermittent, but frequent enough to have multiple sites complaining about it.
15:08 csharp jeffdavis: multiple bricks?
15:10 jeffdavis Well, we have multiple servers, but I can't tell from the error whether it is a specific one giving the unavailable error.
15:10 csharp from the server log end, can you tail -f your error logs?
15:10 Bmagic Probably a bad brick
15:10 jeffdavis I'd blame drone exhaustion but we're not *quite* at the max drone count and I'm not seeing "no children available" in our logs.
15:11 csharp could be a zombie drone that's no longer connected but the router thinks it's alive
15:11 csharp or something along those lines - we're seeing that happen from time to time too
15:11 csharp we're calling open-ils.actor too much
15:16 jeffdavis the most notable error I see in the logs is multiple "client_send_message failed, exit()ing immediately" errors on open-ils.pcrud
15:17 jeffdavis looks maybe connected to large chunked messages
15:17 jeffdavis not sure if that's related to the open-ils.actor thing
