10:47 csharp could someone with evergreen-ils.org site access please change the "commits" links on https://evergreen-ils.org/communicate/mailing-lists/ to their new locations? http://list.evergreen-ils.org/mailman/listinfo
10:47 csharp (note that open-ils-commits is now evergreen-commits)

11:12 terranm csharp - I can do it
11:21 terranm csharp - there's a search box on there that's pointing to a search program on georgialibraries.org - is that valid any longer?

11:34 csharp hmm
11:35 csharp terranm: that's fine for now - we'll need to make MarkMail aware of our new lists and have them subscribe an archiving user

11:37 terranm ok
11:37 terranm Is the sysadmin list there to provide access to archived discussions, or should it be removed?

11:47 jeff This feels like mockery:
11:47 jeff ERROR:  date/time field value out of range: "2017-39-01"
11:47 jeff HINT:  Perhaps you need a different "datestyle" setting.
11:47 berick yeah jeff get some style
11:52 csharp terranm: it's only there to show the archives - not particularly useful, but harmless :-)
11:52 terranm k thx
11:52 csharp berick++
11:52 csharp jeff++
11:53 csharp "Datestyle" sounds like a bad 80s personal grooming program you'd order off TV
11:55 terranm lol
11:55 terranm Bmagic: For the ones on your test server that you encountered merge conflicts, did you work around the conflicts and get them installed, or could they not be installed?
12:01 Bmagic they are installed - I make the line edits as needed
12:01 Bmagic Wasn't anything I didn't think I could understand

15:49 nfBurton Does anyone know of a spot with information on how Evergreen Consortium have been formed in the past? I'm feeling our region needs a consortium soon but unsure where to start on the idea
15:55 gmcharlt nfBurton: as in, guidance on forming a consortium from scratch?
15:55 terranm You might want to reach out to the consortial leaders list - http://list.evergreen-ils.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/consortial-leaders
15:55 nfBurton yeah lol
15:56 jonadab We weren't there for the formation of the consortium we're in.  Joined later.
15:56 csharp nfBurton: we'd be happy to regale you with the Tale of PINES sometime if you want :-)
15:56 jvwoolf1 nfBurton: You might also want to look through past conference programs for slides or contact info. I think this has been a presentation topic before, if I'm not mistaken.
15:56 jonadab But I think ours might've been an unusual case anyway -- formed when some other initiative collapsed, as a replacement measure.
15:57 nfBurton I saw a round table on the Youtube from this year I haven't watched yet. Not sure if it holds anything.
15:57 nfBurton jonadab Sounds like most initiatives '=D
15:58 csharp tl;dr: a shared problem (Y2K) + desire for a "borderless" state library + locking library directors in a hotel ballroom until they settled on shared policies = PINES Phase I & II (1999 - 2001)
15:58 jonadab PINES is a particularly _large_ consortium.  Which probably made it more difficult to set up than average.
15:59 csharp yes, logistical concerns were a lot of what led to Evergreen's initial development
15:59 jvwoolf1 Too be a fly on that hotel ballroom wall...
15:59 terranm We did/do have the support of the state though, which is a benefit that not all consortiums have
15:59 csharp jvwoolf1: there is a fabled whitepaper that no one can locate that described the whole event
16:00 jonadab Publicly filed in a filing cabinet in a library basement near a sign that says "Beware of leopard"?
16:00 csharp yes, and as a unit of the University System of Georgia, we had a statewide network already set up to serve regional colleges/universities and the political will to add the last-mile connections to libraries
16:00 csharp jonadab: something like that
16:01 rfrasur Isn't there a book somewhere that shares the tales?
16:01 gmcharlt csharp: just that the leopard is really a sentient peach...
16:01 csharp no book - lots of whitepaper-style accounts
16:01 csharp @band add Sentient Peach
16:01 pinesol csharp: Band 'Sentient Peach' added to list
16:01 rfrasur There was an Evergreen book though.  Printed by Lulu.  Now I gotta rabbit hole it.
16:02 jihpringle nfBurton: Sharon Herbert at the BC Libraries Co-op might be a good person to talk to, she's been with Sitka since the beginning (she's on vacation this week)
16:02 csharp rfrasur: gmcharlt was coordinating a history repo for containing such things
16:03 nfBurton She'd be perfect since we are Canadian based as well
16:03 rfrasur Yes...
16:03 nfBurton An Evergreen book could be very insightful lol
16:04 csharp it's a great story if someone ever has the wherewithal to write it :-)
16:05 rfrasur I have no idea what was in this book.  And I wonder if it wasn't something that Brad Le*cough might have done?  Or something?  It was a fer piece ago.
16:05 jihpringle rfrasur: https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=books:evergreen_in_action
16:06 jihpringle is that it?
16:06 rfrasur No?  But maybe.  ?  I have no idea.
16:06 rfrasur It was something that was actually printed through Lulu...and then wasn't.
16:06 csharp probably in the drawer with the whitepaper then :-)
16:07 rfrasur lol, isn't referenced here.  https://wiki.evergreen-ils.org/doku.php?id=governance:minutes:2012-12-12
16:08 rfrasur though maybe that references the 2.3 one.
16:08 rfrasur (though it references Lulu)
16:09 rfrasur Ah hah.  jihpringle, yes...that's the book.
