Hi, i was thinking of using Evergreen – Open Source Library Software to run my festival inventory. Do you think it would be possible to tweak the software to work that way? |
08:10 |
Xperium |
And where can i find the source code? :) |
08:13 |
csharp |
Xperium: https://evergreen-ils.org/egdownloads/ (or https://git.evergreen-ils.org/ for git) |
08:13 |
Xperium |
Thanks! :) |

Xperium: can you explain what you mean by "festival inventory"? |
08:14 |
Xperium |
The software would work the same way as now, just need to changes like: |

Ops* (give me 2min) |

The most important part for me is that, I would need to create different users groups, Global Admin, Admin, Group leader, and ordinary users. |
08:23 |
Xperium |
for them and that they cant see Bar or Security items. |
08:27 |
Xperium |
So the request part is the most important one, but i would also need to make more then one warehouse. Global admin = in control of all warehouses. Admin = control of one warehouse Group leader = control of a category in a warehouse |

Feel like i just made everything more unclear now '=D But i am looking at the documentation now trying to figuring out how everything is built :) |

hiding items from users isn't something Evergreen currently does - but perm groups do exist that would match your hierarchy |
08:38 |
Xperium |
Need to look a bit more into it, i think this could be a good fit with some easy tweaks :) |

Thanks for you help +csharp :) |

Xperium: sure thing - good luck! |

Thanks! :) I am quite new to some technologies used so will probably take some time XD |

It has been a while! Hello! |

Got a quick question for any A/T gurus that might be around. From looking at the print po sample script and circnotify.pm it looks like trigger.event_group.fire and trigger.event.fire are the ways to get an event to process outside of the normal action trigger cron? |
09:40 |
Dyrcona |
eby: Yes, you can do that. |
09:41 |
eby |
Thanks Dyrcona |

I have some really simple examples in my 2019 pre-conference slides and examples: https://github.com/Dyrcona/evergreen2019-preconference |
09:43 |
Dyrcona |
I don't have any examples with event_group.fire. I should add some, though. |

is sad. boss committed his library to migrating to Alma without even letting us do a cost/benefit analysis |

On the brighter side, we have resolved our certificate issue by getting a new chain and certificate from Sectigo. |

It always baffles me when I hear of library directors making decisions like that without meaningful staff consultation. No matter what you're migrating from/to, just seems like asking for trouble. |
