as a heads up, the recent jQuery release (3.5.0) appears to break (among potentially other things) the AngularJS report template editor |

the lack of xhtml-style self-closing tag support in html5 is probably my biggest problem with html5</mini-rant> |

miker, fair prob. and cool assumptive opening tag in irc :D (disclaimer - I knew that was a shoe throwing comment and still went with it) |

After adding a level to our org tree hierarchy and running autogen/restarting services, the org unit selector in the OPAC is not showing the correct org units (does not match opac.org_unit_hiding.depth). Is there additional org tree caching somewhere that autogen + restart doesn't clear out? |
| 13:49 |
jeff |
localized org tree blobs of json are in memcached, i believe. |
| 13:50 |
jeff |
I don't recall if there's anything that clears those. |
| 13:53 |
jeffdavis |
autogen is supposed to do that |
| 13:54 |
jeffdavis |
"removing OrgTree from the cache for locale en-US..." etc |
| 13:55 |
* rfrasur |
ponders planting two OrgTrees to replace the one removed. |
| 13:55 |
jeff |
if opensrf services and apache have been restarted, then there shouldn't be any in-process cached copies of the org tree. |
| 13:55 |
jeff |
so i guess memcached is the only other place that comes to mind. |
| 13:56 |
jeff |
oh, memcached and local browser cache. |
| 13:57 |
jeff |
though i don't think the org unit selector in the opac is going to be using anything in js that would be cached by the browser, i could be wrong. |
| 13:57 |
jeffdavis |
clearing browser cache/site data doesn't help in this case |
| 14:00 |
jeffdavis |
We're a multi-server environment, I wonder if all OpenSRF/Apache services need to be stopped simultaneously in order for the change to take effect? Not sure what the underlying mechanics of that would be though. |
| 14:00 |
jeff |
shouldn't? |
| 14:01 |
jeff |
in addition to locale-suffixed orgtree keys, i have a key of simply "orgtree." |
| 14:01 |
jeff |
does autogen clear that one? does it matter? |
| 14:01 |
jeffdavis |
there was a bug about that... |
| 14:01 |
Dyrcona |
jeff: It appears that it does. |
| 14:01 |
jeff |
also various org.ancestors.* though I'm not sure they would come into play here. |

I've got a local ticket open to look into removing a level from our org tree hierarchy, but haven't really looked into it, yet. |
| 14:07 |
mmorgan |
Org units are hard to remove. They're like weeds, hard to get out all the roots. |

Yeah, my first reaction to "can we remove the regions from the tree?" was, "No." |

Apparently the solution to my problem was one or more of the following: keep restarting OpenSRF/Apache until everything works; delete cached org trees from memcached directly; wait for some other cache to expire somewhere. |

jeffdavis |
