09:56 Bmagic @coffee [someone]
09:56 * pinesol brews and pours a cup of Panama Gesha 2011, and sends it sliding down the bar to jvwoolf
09:59 Dyrcona @swill
09:59 * pinesol grabs a can of Sparks Stinger and sends it sliding down the bar to Dyrcona
10:00 Dyrcona Not strong enough.... :P
10:02 Dyrcona "Alcopop" is a thing.... It shouldn't be, but it is.
10:02 Dyrcona Ok, back to figuring out a bug that is probably just the slow database and slow VM on development.
10:05 Bmagic hehe
10:07 Dyrcona Well, someone said something did nothing on the development VM, so I assume the request timed out. I guess the bug would be a silent failure to update the database.
10:08 * mmorgan hates it when something does nothing ;-)

10:11 Bmagic revision: There is a firewall somewhere with a smiley emoji happily dropping your carefully crafted and meaningful packets in the toilet
10:12 Bmagic hahaha Dyrcona++
10:12 Dyrcona Should be ATH1, ATH0 is hang up. ;)
10:13 Dyrcona Or... It has been too long. I don't remember.
10:13 Bmagic I think 30 years will cause humans to switch a one to a zero.
10:13 Dyrcona Well, I'm looking for pcrud calls for what I think are the correct object types, but I'm not finding any.
10:14 Dyrcona Neutrinos will do that, too. :)
10:14 Bmagic :)
10:15 Dyrcona OK. Now I find what I'm looking for. I guess more people were using the VM at the time....different authtoken.
10:16 Bmagic I say we just shut these computers down and accept only wax sealed rolled parchment.
10:16 alynn26_away bmagic, i'm with you.
10:17 Bmagic That worked before..... Until someone thought of the hot-needle-PCRUD-seal technique. And now we have memcached... Overkill
10:17 Dyrcona And, I added a 3rd memcached server to production last night!
10:18 Dyrcona "I worry over situations that I know will be alright."
10:18 Dyrcona So, I'm finding lots of search calls, and it looks tedious going through the list of crad objects 15 at a time.
10:21 Dyrcona Found a couple of create calls, and this to go along with them, "Returning method exception with message: An unknown server error occurred"
10:24 Dyrcona tap-to-click--
10:24 Dyrcona webforms--
10:31 jvwoolf1 joined #evergreen
10:41 Dyrcona hm... ldconfig?
10:42 Dyrcona No, not likely.
10:48 Dyrcona Two definitions of verifyObjectClass?
10:49 Dyrcona Nope, one is declaration... I type too soon.
10:56 Dyrcona Weird. It looks like it blew up before going to the database, but I don't see why.
11:16 Dyrcona So, I try it today after the services have had a restart and it just works.
11:18 * mmorgan uses that troubleshooting strategy frequently:  "Go home and come back"
11:23 csharp @dunno get 12
11:23 pinesol csharp: Dunno #12: "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?" (added by csharp at 01:04 PM, August 31, 2012)

11:23 Dyrcona :)

11:23 Dyrcona My attitude lately has been, "OK. Whatever, dude."
11:24 Dyrcona Well, the shutdown is automated on Sunday night for a database refresh. Services are stopped if they're running so as not to interfere with dropping the database.
11:26 Dyrcona There is probably a silent failure bug there, but it's a development system, so I'm not gonna bother reporting it.

14:17 rfrasur lol!
14:28 jeff question is, can the void sign off on commits?
14:28 rfrasur jeff, that is, indeed, a question.
14:30 abneiman git commit -s --author="The Void" -m "Here's looking at you"
14:32 Dyrcona Does the void have a GPG key?
14:33 csharp @decide The Void or The Silence
14:33 pinesol csharp: go with The Silence
14:35 Dyrcona Beware the void *, there is much power and danger there.
14:43 Dyrcona @band add The Silence
14:43 pinesol Dyrcona: Band 'The Silence' added to list
14:53 Dyrcona @blame [band] for [dunno]
14:53 pinesol Dyrcona: Forget it, Jake. It's just Berick and the Electric Fly Swatter. for What we have here is a failure to communicate.
14:54 Dyrcona Well, that's an appropriate song to start on my playlist, "Wearing and Tearing" by Led Zeppelin.
15:12 csharp @praise [band] for [loves [someone]]

16:15 mmorgan So why would a closed library get items on their pull list when the ou setting circ.holds.target_when_closed is set to False?
16:18 abneiman mmorgan: possible that the copy already targeted before the closing was set?
16:21 mmorgan The library's pull list has been empty since they closed, but today has 20+ items on it. Curious!
