Long shot question: Has anyone been noticing issues with printers not coming up in Hatch under Printer Settings? I had this problem a couple of times throughout the past week on different workstations. |

mantis1: I haven't had reports like that often, but did get one last week. Not sure what happened, tried everything to fix it - disable/re-enable hatch, disable/re-enable chrome hatch extension. Reinstalling hatch was the only thing that finally fixed it. |
09:07 |
mantis1 |
mmorgan: I'll give what I can a try. Thanks for your input! |
09:08 |

mantis1: Also a fair number of close and relaunch Chrome and reboots :) |

mantis1 Also, if you don't have Hatch 0.3.2 you should grab that from https://evergreen-ils.org/egdownloads/ . It improves a lot of things and works fine with older versions of the browser plugins |
09:19 |
alynn26 |
One thing we have discovered with Windows 10, is they need to be a local administrator to install hatch. Usually when they do not have printers listed, they have installed it as a local user, not an local administrator. |
09:19 |
csharp |
JBoyer: since you brought it up... :-) - is the new Hatch extension ok to use on top of pre-hatch-omnibus fixes? |
09:19 |
csharp |
we're upgrading to 3.4.1, which doesn't include those and they came late enough that I wasn't comfortable with the risk of patching them in |
09:20 |

It should be backward compatible, you just don't get the new stuff until you update Eg also. |

two more questions |
11:06 |
gmcharlt |
1. is the test DB in question still around? if so, I'd like to see the result of select * from pg_attribute where attname = 'hopeless_date'; |
11:06 |
gmcharlt |
2. is it possible that the test DB would have originated from a database that was created back in the pre-Pg-8.3 days? |
11:07 |
gmcharlt |
in particular, of a lineage that would have be upgraded via pg_upgrade, not pg_dump & restore? |
11:07 |
csharp |
1. the DB is around, but I dropped the hopeless columns to fully roll back the changes |
11:08 |
csharp |
2. I've used pg_upgrade to go from 9.3 -> 9.5, then 9.5 -> 9.6, but it was all pg_dump/pg_restore before that |
11:09 |
gmcharlt |
ok, in that DB, what attypid values do you get from select * from pg_attribute where attname = 'request_time';? |
11:09 |
csharp |
but yeah, the DB has come down to us from the ancients who ran PG 8.1 |

This is ridiculous: osrfwarn.13.log:2020-01-16 13:21:33 bd2-bh4 open-ils.actor: [WARN:22977:Server.pm:200:] server: no children available, waiting... consider increasing max_children for this application higher than 100 in the OpenSRF configuration if this message occurs frequently |

Received a complaint today about printing multiple labels at once using Hatch on a Dymo, that they don't get aligned correctly (label 1 is fine, label 2 gets one line from label 3 on it, etc) |
16:25 |
dbs |
AFAIK nobody ever tried printing multiple labels at once with the installed staff client, but I'm wondering if that's something that people do and it works (thus a setting we need to tweak) or if it's something that should work but currently doesn't |
16:26 |
dbs |
My response was "Well, I guess for now you should just print one label at a time!" |
16:47 |
dbs |
_maybe_ it's another instance of https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1844839 ? I need to try it out and see... |

dbs: my colleague has spent many hours working with Hatch on a Dymo recently and has triumphantly succeeded in printing multiple labels at once, formatted correctly, so it is possible. |
