I'm probably not getting the right search terms. Has anyone posted a database sanitizing/anonymizing script they use when needing to do debugging with production exported data? |
10:20 |
Bmagic |
I've got one |
10:21 |
Bmagic |
FWIW: https://github.com/mcoia/mobius_evergreen/blob/master/Random/randomize_patron_data.pl |
10:22 |
Bmagic |
eby: it's pretty old, and I just realized (thinking about it again now) that it hasn't been updated to mess with the preferred name fields |

eby: We used it so that we could expose a demo server to potiential libraries wanting to join the consortium. So they could see a demo copy of the real server with all it's bibs/items/etc. But without the ability to run reports or see any of the real patron stuff |
10:31 |
Bmagic |
potiential/potential |
10:38 |
eby |
we have some policies like unlimited holds/checkouts that create some edge cases performance wise that are easier to debug/compare with real data |
10:38 |
eby |
which reminds me i need to work on some SIP bug reports |
10:39 |
Bmagic |
right - lots of reasons that people need non-concerto data but also need that data to not expose real patonrs |

Hi friends -- I'm trying to install OpenSRF from scratch on Ubuntu 18.04, and installing prerequisites always fails to install ejabberd |
10:46 |
sandbergja |
I feel like I've run into this before, but can't remember how to deal with it! |
10:46 |
sandbergja |
dpkg says: "new ejabberd package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1" |
10:46 |
sandbergja |
does that ring a bell for anybody? |
10:47 |
berick |
sandbergja: are you using linux containers by any chance? |
10:48 |
sandbergja |
berick: it's an azure VM |
10:48 |
berick |
sandbergja: k. not sure if it's the same issue, but this happens to me using LXC: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ejabberd/+bug/1815699 |

Launchpad bug 1815699 in ejabberd (Ubuntu) "installed ejabberd package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1" [Undecided,Confirmed] |

berick |
there's a fix toward the bottom |
10:49 |
sandbergja |
Thanks! I will give that a try |

Ohhh. Figured out why we were getting multiple copies of reports scheduled. |

Thinking about the physical logistics of distributing a large number of new patron cards (>5000): has anyone here ordered cards from somewhere where they're pre-stuck to a card / mailer, or something creative like that? |
12:05 |
jeff |
or used a removable sticker on the card? |
12:30 |
|
sandbergja joined #evergreen |

...or used a card mailing service, perhaps |

jeff: when we redesigned (and added key fob) we ended up just letting people choose to replace when they came in if they wanted. we didn't have a security or other reason to force a swap. It looks like there are turn key solutions but am sure they have a price https://www.permacard.com/services/membership-card-fulfillment |
13:39 |
eby |
look forward to my new card though |
13:47 |
jeff |
Thanks. I'd found them and some others. We're not likely to mail these, but I am interested in them having either a temporary sticker or being stuck/affixed to a card or mailer or something. |
13:47 |
jeff |
Of course, we could always seal them in envelopes... |

gmcharlt: this is what we had installed: https://git.evergreen-ils.org/?p=evergreen/pines.git;a=blob;f=Open-ILS/examples/fm_IDL.xml;h=15283a4837a11890d9f9a5ce96fe81aaeeea42c9;hb=refs/heads/3.4.1-with-hopeless-holds |
13:52 |

csharp: nothinng obviously wrong there. |
13:52 |
gmcharlt |
csharp: was there a complete service restart done? |
13:53 |
csharp |
yes, there was |
13:54 |
gmcharlt |
would it be possible to get a trace of the entire call for one of your examples in the bug, e.g., for 157891470220626298 and 157891470220628173? |
13:55 |
gmcharlt |
note that as far as I can tell, the error message would show up only during a cstore update or create |
