interesting question of the morning: will deleting an entry from action.hold_copy_map prevent a captured in-transit copy from fulfilling its hold when it gets to the pickup library? |

We have a library that's closing for >30 days for a move to a new building. |

First step was to set closed dates, and set "Target copies for a hold even if copy's circ lib is closed IF the circ lib is the hold's pickup lib" to true for that library. |

Next was to schedule a recurring "DELETE FROM action.hold_copy_map AS ahcm USING asset.copy AS acp WHERE acp.id = ahcm.target_copy AND acp.circ_lib = $CLOSED_ORG_UNIT AND ahcm.proximity > 0" |

So now nothing should be targeted and nothing should be opportunistically captured (with some race conditions on op capture between runs of that DELETE). |

Next will be to stop op-capture of items at other libs for holds with this soon-to-be-closed lib as pickup, using a variant of the ahcm DELETE above. |

And finally we'll suspend all holds for pickup at that lib, with an activation date of the day they re-open. We'll extend any currently suspended holds activation date if it falls before that date, and leave suspended holds with a null activation date alone. |
