I'm trying to test the autorenew event, 124. Does it have to run at 1:00 am to renew the daily circulations? |
| 12:15 |
Dyrcona |
Ah. Bet I need to set max_auto_renewal. |

Dyrcona |
OK, so where is max_auto_renew set? I don't see it in the org unit settings or circ matrix. |
| 12:32 |
mmorgan |
Dyrcona: I've played a bit with auto renewal, the trigger doesn't need to run at 1:00am, you do need to set the max_auto_renewal |
| 12:32 |
mmorgan |
It's in the circulation duration rule |
| 12:32 |
* Dyrcona |
grumbles. |
| 12:33 |
* mmorgan |
expected to see it in the matrix, too. :-( |
| 12:34 |
Dyrcona |
I suppose it makes sense if max_renewals was there already. |
| 12:34 |
csharp |
@who expected to see it in The Matrix? |
| 12:34 |
pinesol |
expected to see it in The Matrix. |
| 12:36 |
mmorgan |
makes sense to some, anyway :) |
| 12:42 |
JBoyer |
Dyrcona, mmorgan, it's a field on config.rule_circ_duration, if you don't need to specifically set it in ccmm |
| 12:43 |
JBoyer |
And I just realized that you both found that already, and are missing it where I thought it already was. |
| 12:43 |
JBoyer |
Ooops. :/ |
| 12:45 |
Dyrcona |
And, I figure I'll have to update existing circulations... |
| 12:48 |
Dyrcona |
Looks like it has finally picked up some autorenew events without my setting the max auto renewals. |
| 12:49 |
Dyrcona |
Has anyone assigned a granularity, like daily, to the event? |
| 12:59 |
mmorgan |
Dyrcona: We are not using autorenew in production yet, but we would likely assign a unique granularity for that trigger. |
| 12:59 |
JBoyer |
It looks like the one that does the work defaults to Daily. Had to add a different one to the notification event, of course, but it would be a good idea to add one so you don't run into any partial notifications. |
| 12:59 |
JBoyer |
(or rather, multiple notifications for the same day.) |
| 13:01 |
Dyrcona |
JBoyer: There's no granularity on either event in my database, and we haven't changed anything about them. |
| 13:03 |
JBoyer |
Oops. It's possible I added Daily to it, but since we don't use the default event here I forgot doing it. |
| 13:03 |
JBoyer |
So yes, I'd recommend it. |
| 13:03 |
JBoyer |
:) |

Check my understanding: there's a way to change workstation settings to user settings, so that the same user doesn't have to set all their settings every time they use a new workstation, correct? |
| 13:21 |
mmorgan |
sandbergja: Yes! Best thing ever! |
| 13:21 |
JBoyer |
sandbergja, yes. remove the entry from config.workstation_setting_type and put it in config.usr_setting_type |
| 13:21 |
sandbergja |
Yay! How do you do it? |
| 13:21 |
mmorgan |

Also, if you keep the workstation setting type, users can override the org unit default. |
| 13:23 |
JBoyer |
I assumed either type would override an ous? I haven't tried overriding anything yet though. |
| 13:24 |
mmorgan |
Once the org_unit_setting_type exists, you need to add a row to actor.org_unit_setting to set the org unit and the value. |
| 13:31 |
Dyrcona |
Autorenew is slow, but what isn't? |
