Good morning, #evergreen! Hope your day has started out better than mine. |

:/ |

What happened? |
08:28 |
JBoyer |
unfortunate upgrade? |
08:32 |
Dyrcona |
Well, other than the ingest causing write ahead logs to fill a partition on the backup server, the upgrade has gone really well from my point of view. |

My main problem is a leaky roof that I can't fix right away. |
08:33 |
Dyrcona |
We lost some shingles in a wind storm and today, it is raining. |
08:34 |
Dyrcona |
Irony? A guy is coming about a roofing estimate tomorrow night. |
08:35 |
JBoyer |
:( That's lousy. |
08:37 |
Dyrcona |
Could be worse. On the way to where I am now, I saw an auto accident on the other side of the highway. |

Man, that dedicated link and NVMe write data in a hurry! |

wal archiving seems to have slowed down. |

Bet it comes in spurts when ingest processes commit. |

So, KPAC isn't showing our custom icons or categories, even after I copied the fixed kpac.xml into place and restarted services. |
10:14 |
bshum |
Is the kpacconfigfile pointing at the right file you've specified in eg_vhost.conf? |
10:14 |
bshum |
Not .example (default) |
10:14 |
Dyrcona |
bshum: I'll check. |
10:15 |
Dyrcona |
bshum++ It is point to example. |

pointing, even. |

So, I'm pretty sure there's a bug with web client copy templates. Our head of cataloging's web client templates now look like XUL copy templates. |
10:44 |
JBoyer |
No import/export in there? (It doesn't do the conversion as part of an import, only on the fly) |
10:45 |
Dyrcona |
I don't know. I'm going to check an alternate account. She said she added a template to that one today. |
10:45 |
JBoyer |
There shouldn't be any way to get XUL templates into that user setting, the conversion would likely die off before being able to save them, but the importer just throws whatever it's given in there. |
10:45 |
Dyrcona |
I suspected an import in the previous instance, but I have no evidence for it. |
10:46 |
JBoyer |
It is hard to track that one down for sure since it doesn't really log anything but a user setting update. |

(The fact that you frequently have to reload the page once to make the converted templates appear trips up a lot of people, leading them to think they have to do that. :( ) |

Alas, lots of 500 errors from Syndetic Solutions on cover lookups today. |
11:36 |
jeff |
might not be specific to cover lookups. i forgot i was looking at other lookups also. |
11:51 |
Dyrcona |
Weird. Looking at the dumped templates again, it looks like the template has both XUL and web client elements in it, and this is from a dump done before the upgrade. |
11:52 |
Dyrcona |
And some of the others look like XUL templates.... |
11:58 |
JBoyer |
I believe the import also merges templates rather than discard/replace. So if some were converted and an import done that will result in a mix, as will importing XUL and then creating new web. |
12:05 |
Dyrcona |
JBoyer: Thanks. I have not gotten confirmation from the user, but I suspect that on one account, they are importing XUL templates. |
12:06 |
Dyrcona |
The other account that is being tested, the templates look OK. |
12:06 |
Dyrcona |
Either they are importing XUL templates, or they need to clear their local storage for the web staff client. |
12:08 |
JBoyer |
I don't think it would be difficult to make the importer smart enough to deal with that correctly, but I lacked tuits at the time. :( |
12:09 |
Dyrcona |
Yeah. |
12:21 |
Dyrcona |
All right, that time was a false alarm. I still had the old, busted template file when I did the second dump. The script that I used didn't touch the file because there weren't and web client templates in the database. |

For those in the area: a reminder about the Northwest Evergreen Users Symposium 10am-4pm tomorrow. It's free and you're welcome to drop by for all or part of the day, even if you didn't register (although you will miss out on our catered lunch). |

I think I'm going to try using uib-tooltip or uib-popover to restore the circ by year data in item status, reported missing in bug 1743611. |
