09:45 abneiman a lot of great art is inspired by pain ;-)
09:45 JBoyer :)
09:46 JBoyer I don't suppose I'll be complaining about the weather though, it's at least above 0 here.
09:46 rhamby JBoyer: I read your comment about needing a cd because a server wouldn't update from flash, reminded me of .... sheesh, it was probably ten years ago, I had to go out and buy a usb floppy drive for a machine that wouldn't load from a CD
09:47 jvwoolf joined #evergreen
09:48 JBoyer But was that machine essentially the top of the line for it's day? That's where a lot of my frustration came from. (That and the firmware update image is over 6GB, they're going to have to make the thing work on flash only at some point unless these things can boot from blu rays...)
09:49 rhamby I still have that bloody floppy drive because I bought it with my own money because it was an emergency and I didn't have time for the paperwork
09:49 rhamby JBoyer: it was a few years old so not as bad as your situation probably but it wasn't _that_ old
09:50 JBoyer Still counts, I just wasn't prepared to experience that anymore that we're living in The Future. ;)
10:01 Dyrcona The Future..... ;)
10:01 jeff I still remember a Red Had Linux release that wouldn't install from CD-ROM on a Compaq Proliant server. It would boot off the CD, then report that it was unable to locate the CD-ROM drive / content. Solution was to switch mid-install to an external USB CD-ROM drive.
10:01 jeff s/Red Had/Red Hat/ :P
10:03 Dyrcona Here is I was feeling proud of myself because a) I finally paired my phone with my car and b) I've tethered my laptop to my phone over Bluetooth. [Both this morning.]
10:04 Dyrcona jeff: Related, I've encountered a HP server that would boot and install from the media (USB in this case), but wouldn't boot from the installed image without a lot of later finagling.
10:05 Dyrcona Can't blame the hardware though, seems the kernel used to boot the installer had a module compiled in that the installed image did not, and the installer wasn't smart enough to enable it.
10:06 * jeff looks around some Evergreen catalogs to see who has metarecord grouping turned on/off.

10:12 Dyrcona Anyone else get PO JEDI events that get stuck at completed? This happened to us again this morning with a purchase order that had 144 line items.
10:13 Dyrcona I was able to get it to process by running open-ils.trigger.event.fire on it.
10:13 Dyrcona Sorry, not stuck at "completed," but stuck at collected?
10:16 Dyrcona I know I've asked about that before.
10:17 * Dyrcona wonders if the new order pusher in Perl would help, but doubts it.
10:19 Dyrcona BRB. I have to sign out for a moment.
10:21 jeff pines: no, indiana: yes, sitka: yes (at least on primary urls)
10:22 jeff other than "requires good records" and "has some documented limitations", how do people here feel about metarecords / metarecord holds?
10:24 JBoyer I don't have a good feel for how much they're used, but I think the reason they're not enabled by default is (potential?) user confusion. The users that know what they are and are for like them a lot.
10:25 JBoyer (Also, until very recently we didn't have a good way to distinguish DVD/BR and that would cause some unhappyness. And MR holds don't mesh with parts to my knowledge, so...)

10:30 phasefx_ I think this might be a heisenbug: http://testing.evergreen-ils.org/~live/test.42.html#2019-01-29T04:58:02,473540238-0500
10:32 JBoyer Dyrcona, I think the perl EDI pusher might help in that situation (since it doesn't bother with AT at all) but if it's not happening enough to warrant the switch that may not be much help.
10:33 berick JBoyer: was going to say the same...
10:33 Dyrcona JBoyer: Thanks. I have not looked into it that deeply, yet. As you said, it happens may be once/month, but sometimes twice in two weeks.
10:34 * Dyrcona will endeavor to learn about the new EDI pusher because we intend to start using it after the end of this fiscal year, i.e. in July.
10:34 JBoyer Though it may be worth planning to switch over at some point anyway since the AT version won't likely be seeing a lot more work.
10:34 berick i believe the perl is more proactive in scrubbing data.  iirc, things line newline in lineitem notes can break things
10:34 Dyrcona berick++ JBoyer++
10:34 berick *things like newlines

11:09 JBoyer phasefx_, kind of a surprising one though. I'm not sure how that could change from one run to the next?
11:11 phasefx_ JBoyer: not sure, but I saw it one my test system a lot when I was working on the QA scripts, but then it didn't happen on the one we use for the website, so I stopped worrying about it, until it reappeared today
11:16 Dyrcona I've had tests sometimes fail, though it seems to b related to the order of running PgTAP and Perl tests, though not always reproducible.
11:17 Dyrcona phasefx_: Guess we jumped the gun on Lp 1794588. We look forward to the revised branch later this week!

14:35 Dyrcona I'll have to check number of events added per day later to see if we're having a higher number of events created than usual.
14:39 Dyrcona Hard to tell from the raw numbers: 38,707 so far today. We have a high of 54,431 last Thursday and a low of 21,121 on Saturday. (I only checked the past week.)
14:39 Dyrcona I'll have to remember to check it again tomorro.
14:41 * Dyrcona disappears again.
14:44 abowling hey, all. i'm wondering if anyone else has had issue. i'm suddenly having issue with my key working for the git repo when the same key worked 2 weeks ago

16:48 jeffdavis Does anyone around here have access to the NCIP v1 spec? I haven't been able to dig up a copy (best I can find is a DTD).

19:47 jeffdavis jeff++ # thanks very much!
19:47 jeff I think the schema and DTD were a mix of "findable on ncip.info and niso.org" and "findable on archive.org"
19:48 jeff I don't know how many of the implementor profiles I have. What are you working with?
19:50 jeffdavis Probably that "implementation profile 1" but I'm not sure yet. The vendor is Relais, we just want to support Lookup User.
