10:34 Bmagic Is there a work a round in Webby when you want to remove the age protection? The dropdown menu doesn't offer "none".

11:01 mmorgan Bmagic: There's an option to choose <NONE> in 3.1, but I don't see a way around it in 3.0
11:01 Bmagic mmorgan: thanks! I wonder if I need to file a bug report?
11:02 mmorgan Well, it appears that it was fixed at some point, so I'm not sure a bug report is needed.
11:03 Bmagic There must be a bug report already
11:04 * mmorgan looked, but could not find one. Hard to search for!
11:04 Bmagic yeah, I'll take another stab at it and maybe this time look for "fixed"
11:06 bdljohn joined #evergreen
11:08 Dyrcona Hm.. Getting errors that I thought I'd fixed in my rebased ubuntu branch. Maybe I reset to the wrong commit.
11:09 Dyrcona Well, something is not right.
11:10 gmcharlt berick: I've reviewed your patch for OpenSRF bug 1803182
11:10 Dyrcona Oh, right.... I'm using Pg 10 and need that branch checked out.
11:10 pinesol Launchpad bug 1803182 in OpenSRF "Websocketd graceful shutdown support" [Wishlist,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1803182 - Assigned to Galen Charlton (gmc)
11:12 gmcharlt while the patch itself looks good, I do have a question (which I've added to the bug) about how/if websocketd itself  can be made to stop accepting new connections when a graceful shutdown has been initiated
11:18 mmorgan Bmagic: bug 1772993
11:18 pinesol Launchpad bug 1772993 in Evergreen 3.0 "Web Client: Ability to remove more fields in Vol/Copy Editor" [Undecided,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1772993

13:33 rhamby just two from bibliomation in 2016, I deleted them
13:36 aabbee http://evergreen-ils.org/documentation/install/OpenSRF/README_3_0_2.html says "15. Optional: Websockets installation instructions". two questions: 1) is this still optional? (since xul staff client is deprecated) 2) what's the story with websocketd vs apache-websocket?
13:36 * aabbee half-remembers websocketd being an option, but doesn't see any reference to it on this page
13:42 terran joined #evergreen
13:44 Dyrcona aabbee: Websocketd is not including in the 3.0 README becasue it came after. You should look at the README for master on how to install it. You will also need to back port the branch from bug 1777180
13:44 pinesol Launchpad bug 1777180 in OpenSRF "Wishlist: Websocketd Gateway Support" [Wishlist,Fix committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1777180
13:45 * Dyrcona has to take off for a while. Good luck!

15:04 jeffdavis Are folks using the remoteauth.cgi script for EZProxy authentication?

15:21 hbrennan It's a little hippy dippy, but we want to circulate a book (for the Big Read) without due dates and without fines. If anyone cares to chime in on strategies here ...
15:21 hbrennan I'm staring at Duration Rules trying to make a "no rules" rule...
15:25 jeffdavis Could you just set the due date to something very far in the future?
15:25 hbrennan That's what I'm leaning towards
15:26 hbrennan just trying to ruffle feathers by creating lawlessness in the library
15:27 jeffdavis :)
15:27 rhamby hbrennan: the due date can be something thousands of years in the future so willing as you're willing to risk that none of your patrons are immortal
15:28 rhamby or time travelers
15:28 hbrennan rhamby: ha
15:31 mmorgan hbrennan: You could look at using a non-cataloged type for this purpose
15:32 * mmorgan forgets the details, but believes they automatically fall off of the patron record eventually.
15:41 hbrennan Hmm... loan duration is there in Item Status but not there when I want to edit a record. Dang.
15:44 dkyle2 joined #evergreen
15:46 hbrennan mmorgan: Just trying to make the checkout process normal for front desk staff
15:46 hbrennan We don't currently use noncataloged barcodes (we stopped checking out newspapers a while ago)
15:50 hbrennan Yep, getting pushback abou the extra step
15:50 hbrennan and now they're rebelling and saying lets just have a clipboard
16:01 hbrennan annnnd clipboard wins.
16:02 hbrennan rhamby++ mmorgan++
16:02 hbrennan Thanks for playing.
16:02 terran hbrennan: we use non-cat items for those things -they have due dates that print on the slips, and they record the stats, but they don't stay on the patron records so we don't have to deal with checkins
16:03 terran hbrennan: that being said, I don't know how they're set up and I just went on vacation 2 minutes ago :D
16:03 hbrennan terran: Yeah I know, and I think it's not that big of a deal
16:03 hbrennan terran: Get out of here then!
16:03 hbrennan Enjoy your time off!
16:03 terran :D
16:03 hbrennan I'm hustling after a few sick days. Opposite you. :)

16:06 terran hbrennan: just checking our non-cat types editor settings, it looks like we have circulation times entered for each type, so I guess Evergreen does the rest? And it works for in-house, too
16:06 hbrennan terran++
16:07 terran Okay, I'm really gone now - happy holidays everyone!
16:07 hbrennan terran: Happy holidays!
16:38 mmorgan Dyrcona: A while ago I made a note to self to look at this https://pastebin.com/eitN8KMx
16:39 mmorgan Are/were you using the rename_part function in production?
16:39 mmorgan Looks really useful.
16:40 Dyrcona I believe tsbere did use it in production.
16:43 mmorgan Thanks, we're looking at it to do some parts cleanup.
