remingtron: I was just looking at bug 1806709, and I wouldn't know what to put in the other fields for the setting type. I assume the fm_class would be circ, but dunno what datatype, etc. Maybe I completely misunderstand this feature, as well. |

Launchpad bug 1806709 in Evergreen "Add Billing History grid persist-key to server-side db settings" [High,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1806709 |
09:19 |
remingtron |
Dyrcona: I added an example to the bug. If you don't want to mess with it, I will try to look closer next week. |
09:21 |
Dyrcona |
So, it's only the 1 setting that needs to be added? After looking at the examples from the previous commit, I think I can figure it out. |

Would it make sense to add eg.grid. in front of the setting at this point? |
09:47 |
remingtron |
Dyrcona: yes, I think so |
09:47 |
* mmorgan |
would agree |
09:47 |
remingtron |
and yes, just the one setting |
09:47 |
Dyrcona |
Well, should we then go back and change the key in 3.1? I pushed it there. |
09:48 |
Dyrcona |
That would be a different branch, but s'pose we could do it on the same bug. |
09:49 |
mmorgan |
Also, looking at a master-ish db, the fm_class is NULL in all the workstation_setting_types |
09:50 |
mmorgan |
datatype for the eg.grid types are all object |
09:50 |
Dyrcona |
mmorgan: Thanks. |
09:52 |

Maybe I should just back the change out of 3.1? Who's maintainer? |

I'll make a branch for 3.1 that just changes the setting name. I think that would lead to smoother upgrades, no? |
10:01 |
Dyrcona |
And, kernel updates to install.... Think I'll wait a little bit. |

bshum suggested using incognito mode windows for testing, which I think is a good idea. I'll try that next time. |
11:42 |

mmorgan: You would be interested to know that I have updated the build scripts for the MassLNC VMs and fixed most of the issues. I will send an email to the interested parties later. This branch testing also constitutes testing of the scripts. |

Umm. I don't see any workstation settings going into the database, and the egrid setting is created in local storage with master. The config.workstation_setting_type entry is created in the database. |

I've got a bit of a local administration problem - a branch had to delete cookies, clear cache etc. to get past the WSOD in the web client, but now the login screen says there are unprocessed offline transactions. |
13:04 |
stlink |
Since the workstation isn't registered, no one can login, and since there are outstanding transactions, no one can register the workstation. |

berick, a quick sanity check since I assume you've had to look into it re:proxy use; should the port specification in the ServerName or ServerAlias directives be changed/removed? |
15:46 |

(The various port problems that have popped up when setting up a proxied setup has me wondering.) |

16:02 |

you could probably remove ServerName/ServerAlias too, not sure |
16:03 |
berick |
but they definitely should not be modified to match the internal Apache ports |
