09:11 Dyrcona Is anyone using the Hold Expires from Shelf Soon action_trigger? I tried activating it last night with a delay of -2 days, and no events have been processed for it. A quick query suggests that I have 1,839 holds that expire in two days.
09:16 mmorgan Dyrcona: We have not used that trigger.
09:19 Dyrcona I should clarify my previous statement: We have 1,839 holds on that are not picked up that shelf expire in 2 days.
09:23 * csharp checks
09:24 csharp nope - we don't have that one activated
09:25 csharp Dyrcona: when I've seen that sort of thing happen, I was helped by tracking down the query to find them in the PG logs
09:25 csharp "them" = "events that should be collected"

09:31 Dyrcona csharp: Thanks! I'll see if I can find that after I do something else.
09:32 JBoyer Something else to look at when you have time: is it mentioned (and does it look reasonable) in actoin_trigger_filters.json on the server that runs it?
09:33 Dyrcona JBoyer: Since that is easier for me to do, I'll do that before hunting down queries.
09:34 JBoyer I don't have high hopes unless you've customized it locally a bit. Looks fairly straightforward to me. :/
09:34 JBoyer (of course, I haven't tried to use it here, so who knows.)
09:37 Dyrcona We have customized action_trigger_filters.json.

10:22 Dyrcona JBoyer | csharp | mmorgan: We have customized filters but not for the hold_request.shelf_expires_soon hook. I assume we don't need any?
10:24 JBoyer Doesn't seem like you should, no. I suppose you could simplify it a bit or remove it altogether to see if that at least allows the definition to catch and react a few events.
10:25 Dyrcona I am considering just doing --process-hooks for just that hook. I tried on a test database, but it had no holds meeting the conditions. The data is too old.
10:25 Dyrcona I'll see if I can find the collection query in the logs, first.

10:36 kmlussier Wow! I didn't realize until today that @EvergreenILS had a fleet of airplanes. https://twitter.com/vbagate/status/1046754549116137472
10:38 * kmlussier disappears for a bit.
10:40 csharp Dyrcona: I *think* action_trigger_runner.pl will expect a corresponding entry in action_trigger_filters.json if you do --process-hooks (but I may be entirely wrong)
10:40 csharp it's been a few months since I dug into that
10:41 Dyrcona The only hook that I have filters for is checkout.due.
10:45 Dyrcona I'm not finding anything that looks like a collection query to me in the postgresql logs.
10:47 Dyrcona Oh, funny....OpenILS/Application/Trigger/Collector.pm.
10:47 csharp action_trigger_runner.pl has a --verbose that may help? (I remember this being pretty annoying)
10:49 Dyrcona I'm trying the --verbose option with --process-hooks on just the one hook.
10:50 csharp does it pause as if it's working? or just return to the prompt?
10:51 Dyrcona All right, that added 5,354 rows in action_trigger.event.
10:52 Dyrcona It paused.
10:53 khuckins_ joined #evergreen
10:53 Dyrcona Ah ha!
10:54 Dyrcona I don't have any action_trigger_runner.pls running with --process-hooks and no granularity. I think I need to add a granularity to this event definition.
10:55 Dyrcona csharp++ JBoyer++ mmorgan++
10:57 Dyrcona I think the ones that were just added should get processed at 11:00 am when the next --run-pending with no granularity kicks off.

11:44 remingtron Is there a problem with websockets on demo.evergreencatalog.com ?
11:44 remingtron I can't login to the web client
11:46 remingtron I'm getting this error in Chrome
11:46 remingtron WebSocket connection to 'wss://demo.evergreencatalog.com/osrf-websocket-translator' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 404
11:47 Dyrcona remingtron: Sounds like websockets is down/not responding, but I don't think I have access to fix it.

11:48 Dyrcona And, my events have finally finished processing. Thanks, again, JBoyer, csharp, and mmorgan.
11:48 berick remingtron: same error here
11:49 remingtron Dyrcona: berick: thanks for the confirmation
11:49 Dyrcona I have added the "daily" granularity so it should work going forward.
11:49 remingtron miker: gmcharlt: Any word on the state of demo.evergreencatalog.com ?

14:27 _bott_ I almost missed it! Evergreen at GRPL is officially 10 years old! I remember that all nigher, working with phasefx: to get everything migrated and running about 15 minutes prior to opening on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008

16:02 mmorgan Normalizer question: I see the naco_normalize and search_normalize functions in the public database schema, but what does the Normalize.pm perl module do?
16:07 Dyrcona mmorgan: It has naco_normalize, search_normalize, and clean_marc functions for use in Perl code. I mostly use the last when messing with bib records outside of the database.
16:08 sandbergja joined #evergreen
16:09 mmorgan Ok, so Evergreen itself doesn't make use of the perl functions, but they should always be kept consistent with the db functions for calls from outside scripts.
16:10 Dyrcona I'm not entirely sure if Evergreen does or doesn't use the functions in the Perl module, but the latter is a good idea. :)
16:10 Dyrcona There maybe some parts of the code, such as utility scripts, that use those functions, but I have not actually checked.
16:13 mmorgan Dyrcona: Thanks, I'll go with keeping them consistent :)
16:13 mmorgan Dyrcona++
16:15 Dyrcona mmorgan: Looks like Storage uses naco_normalize from Normalize.pm. Acq, Vandelay, EGCatLoader, and Search also use some functions from Normalize.pm.
16:16 mmorgan Dyrcona: Thanks for checking!
16:16 Dyrcona Supercat, too. :)
